Cavalry trialled well in Sydney prior to his first-up run and the form through the trial has stacked up well, he found a bog heavy track over 1400m at Bendigo first-up, was kept safe in the market and was held-up at a key stage (400m-300m) but once clear hit the line in the sixth-fastest last 200m of the meeting and up in trip, J.Melham sticks, I expect him to be winning.

Star Trip has jumped out well and has also been very well supported in early markets, I doubt Mark Zahra is making the drive up for the scenery although it is interesting to note that he went to Bendigo back in March on a Sunday for a horse named Silk Sonic, who were the same owners as this Star Trip, so I wonder if it’s not as much of a lead as some may think, him making the trip out on a Thursday.

Sevens Oceans was extremely well supported and ran well in a good two-year-old race at Mornington on debut. She has jumped out very well in the lead up to this and does look likely, although no knocks on Bonus Season who has also jumped out sharp.

Soroush has been accepted and scratched multiple times in the last two weeks and D.Lane has been booked every time, he jumped the horse out and if those jumpouts are any guide, he has improved sharply from his debut run.

Far out this is a scorching hot BM62 on a Thursday. Astral Flame is only 1/4 in her career but had to carry Carleen Hefel at all four starts and you could make a case she should be unbeaten. She appears every bit city grade and I expect her to get there quickly but the market agrees and I can’t find any edge at even money.

Starfleet Command picked up the pieces of a very average and fast run synthetic maiden on debut and now goes sharply up in trip and onto grass, I have him priced double his current quote.

Steel Move was terrific first-up at Sandown for the new camp and up in trip suits for him, Empire Of Pain was another who was good first-up, five weeks between runs is a slight knock but she should settle ahead of the favourite in the run.
