LAY: 7. Deel Me A Queen (WIN) for 1 unit (Rated at $6.00)

We kick off the program with a solid 1400m maiden. Happy to be against the Messara & Gavranich-trained Deel Me A Queen in the opener. The 4yo mare started $2.40 on debut before failing to make an impression. She’s now been spelled 52 weeks and looked good in a first 900m trial but looked very plain in a recent 1000m trial. At the short quote today, off that plain trial, she looks a solid risk.

BACK: 11. Cool Waters (WIN) for 3 units (Rated at $2.00)

Keen to be with Cool Waters in R3. She was dominant on debut over the 1010m and now drops back to 900m which is no concern. She gets a jockey upgrade with Morgan going in the saddle and should get the run of the race from barrier 5. Any slight improvement from her debut run suggests she’s clearly the horse to beat.

14. Triolli
13. Thrilling Venture
12. Miss Orth
6. Elegant Lucy

Betting Strategy

Intriguing race. The Gregory Hickman-trained debutant Triolli has come up big odds here on debut off the back of a solid Warwick Farm trial win. She draws a lovely inside gate and looks the horse to beat. The locally-trained Thrilling Venture has impressed in two recent trials, she gets Bell in the saddle and should get her chance from the draw. Satin’s Legacy returns off a 40-week spell, two okay trials but looks well found. Elegant Lucy is next best.

12. Chains Of Love
14. Probability Theory
4. Shenandoah River
2. Land Bank

Betting Strategy

Solid maiden with plenty of winning chances. Chains Of Love impressed in a recent 1000m trial around the likes of Lord Or Biscay and Chidiac. She will need luck to offset the draw but her gate should look better come post-cratchings. Probability Theory has come up big odds, smart recent 845m trial and draws ideally for her debut. Shenandoah River has a race fitness edge on the two mentioned above, another who draws well and should enjoy the move back to the home deck. Land Bank is next best.

4. Jason Darren
8. Major Lightning
3. Rura Penthe
2. Haze

Betting Strategy

No real speed on paper here which points me towards the race-fit Jason Darren. The consistent type peaks now and should roll to the front with ease from barrier 4. The slight knock is the firm deck. Major Lightning will need to use the good draw to land a touch more handy here, he’s building well and looks ready for the 1600m. I liked the second-up improvement of Rura Penthe, a further 200m now third-up can only see him improve. The consistent Haze has to go in the mix on the home deck.

9. Earl Of Bantry
7. Peninsula
10. Great Point
8. Ballinderry Sal

Betting Strategy

Earl Of Bantry was a dominant first-up winner and looked to be extending away from his rivals late. The added fitness second-up and rise in trip read well. Peninsula didn’t handle the hot tempo and rise to Highway grade last start, back down to his right class here and can improve. Great Point gets in light with the claim and draws well too. The 5yo mare is 2/2 at the track and trip and must be respected. Ballinderry Sal will get back from the draw and look to run on late.

10. Lighthouse Lass
1. Bluebird Bay
11. Atenta
4. Rebel Rhapsody

Betting Strategy

BACK: 10. Lighthouse Lass (WIN) for 2 units (Rated at $2.50)

Keen to round out the day with the progressive Lighthouse Lass. The 3yo filly was great last start without much luck in transit. Ultimately, she should have won there with any sort of luck. She peaks now fourth-up over the 300m trip and maps perfectly to take any sort of luck out of the equation. The cherry on top is the booking of the in-form JVO. She looks hard to beat and should shorten.
