BACK: 1. Hypernova (WIN) for 4 units
Hypernova will appreciate the drop back from City level to mid-week racing where the horse was performing really well. Last start was 2.7L 2nd behind the much hyped From The Block. The horse has never missed a place in 4 attempts at Murray Bridge and goes well over this trip. Draws well and gets the services of Todd Pannell. Looks the one. Stomp Em started the career with a win and a second but can be forgiven for a failure at BM72 metro level behind the talented Sav On Ice on a horrendous track for racing. Drops back a few pegs here and looks well placed with the claim for Caitlin Tootell. Drops back from the mile and is 1/1 at the distance. Prince Reichweite didn’t really come up last prep before a break but the first up run was encouraging 1.5L 5th at Balaklava when making good ground late over the 1050m. The extra 150m in trip suits now and Rochelle Milnes sticks the ride. Silver Chaos rarely runs a bad race and did enough for 2nd at Gawler last start but was no match for Koratora who looks very promising. Draws nicely here and should be thereabouts again!

12. Zoutrail
13. It’sabouttime
5. Bending Away
3. Dapper Don
Betting Strategy
No bet race but an interesting start to the day with lots of first starters mixed in with some horses with decent enough raceday form. Zoutrail is on debut here and was one of the better trials in fast time at Murray Bridge leading into this. It’sabouttime is another who won a trial on the same day in similar time. Draws well and well placed with the claim. Bending Away was backed in the market fresh but didn’t come on in the straight. Will strip fitter and has been given a 4 week freshen. Has upside. Dapper Don led here and was just roped in the shadows of the post. Looks the likely leader here and will give a great sight with the 3kg claim for Isaac Sit. Perhaps watch market moves if you are interested in playing here.
3. Indiamo
5. Trevidi
13. Nadege
4. Machinegun Mike
Betting Strategy
No bet race. Pretty ordinary MDN this one. Thought Indiamo could take some improvement from a 7th at Gawler when drew wide and was a terrible day to try and make up ground from the back. Will be fitter for the first up run and gets back to a fairer surface in Murray Bridge. Like the booking of Connor Murtagh. Trevidi is on debut and must be respected coming from the Phillip Stokes stable. Has poked around at a couple of trials in preparation for this. Draws well. Perhaps watch market. Nadege is probably the most race experienced and is coming off a close up 3rd at Gawler last time out when favourite. Can go a couple better here and break the duck. Machinegun Mike caught the eye from well back at this track/distance last time out. Fitter for that, draws well and positive jockey change.
11. Marcel
12. More Than Hope
14. Sassy Sophie
3. It’s Only Magic
Betting Strategy
Marcel is on debut here and is coming off a nice trial behind Zoutrail that lines up in the first. The horse draws well for the first up run and Rochelle Milnes sticking from the trial is a positive. The Blanch team generally have their first starters ready to fire. More Than Hope had specking at a price last start at Balaklava and closed nicely for a 1.6L 3rd. That was over the 1050m journey so the extra trip will likely suit. Sassy Sophie was OK on debut at Balaklava on a heavy 9 when ground home for 5th. Will take benefit from that run, extra trip suits and drops 1.5kg. Can improve sharply on a better surface here. It’s Only Magic was hard in the market last start and looked the winner when hitting the lead at the top of the straight but was just gunned down in the shadows of the post. Draws well and should be in this for a long way. Has race experience on his side.

14. Transpacific

Betting Strategy
BACK: 13. Extra Chill (WIN & PLACE) for 2 units
Competitive race with some horses in this with potential upside. Extra Chill was specked on debut from $31 to $9 and ran a cracker when settled back in the field and really motored home through the line for an eye-catching 2.9L 3rd over the 1400m. The step up to 1600m suits and staying at the wide Murray Bridge track suits. Looks a promising horse. The same could be said about Anthracite who came from the same race and also caught the eye late for 0.3L 2nd when charging late. Extra trip suits too and Pannell sticks the ride. Sure to be foolding home again. Transpacific has had one career run and it was a nice closing 2nd at this track when came from well back after a slow beginning. LIke the first two selections the horse will only be suited by the extra furlong and is in the right stable for open improvement. Angel Gear started a monster price in the same race as Transpacific and was noticed making some good ground late for 1.5L 3rd albeit no match for the winner. Can prove that run was no fluke with another strong performance here.

10. Lunarshot
2. Hooked On Wealth
6. Lapilli
12. Whoops A Daisy
Betting Strategy
BACK: 1. Lunarshot (WIN & PLACE) for 2 units @
Was keen on Lunarshot at Gawler last start but it wasn’t an easy watch. The horse was backed hard in the market but settled in the 2nd half of the field with no tempo in the race. Hoop hooked ridiculously wide on the bend but the horse did come home OK when it was all over. Forgive that. Draws to do no work from one and is going better than form suggests. Needs a change of luck. The same could be said about Hooked On Wealth who has had luckless runs every start this prep. Loomed on the bend last Wednesday but was blocked badly and lost all hope. Forgive that. Likes racing here at Murray Bridge. Deserves a win. Lapilli was in the market fresh but didn’t really fire a shot on a tricky heavy track at Balaklava. Drops 4kg from the previous run with the claim for Isaac Sit and draws for an easy run in transit. Likes racing over this trip. Whoops A Daisy started hard in the market last start but was fractious in the barriers pre race and that was detrimental to the horses chances when the gates opened. Forgive that and was racing well prior. Few gear changes here to help with the pre-race nerves.
4. Bona Fide Star
8. She’s Ternacious
3. Good Bloke
2. Kushan Karnivale
Betting Strategy
BACK: 4. Bona Fide Star (WIN & PLACE) for 2 units
Bona Fide Star was met with good market support last Wednesday and just got too far out his ground on the Parks track (which favours on speed) but did work through the line nicely for 2L 4th. Is on the 7 day back up here. Has a decent enough record at Murray Bridge and draws to settle closer in the run. She’s Ternacious looks hard to beat after a really promising run at Mildura when coming from near last to just miss. Looks like the extra 200m in trip suits here and draws to settle much closer. Can go one better. Good Bloke returns to the Theodore yard after a failed run across the border. Spelled and given an 8 week freshen up for this. The trainer always has his horses ready to go fresh and expect nothing different here. Watch for any positive betting moves. Kushan Karnivale doesn’t win out of turn but often puts in good performances. Wasn’t too bad at metro level for 2.8L 8th last start. Drops back a couple of grades here and draws for an easy time of things. Races honestly here at Murray Bridge.
1. Alainge
2. Duo Perna
8. Suggestive Miss
4. Piwhane
Betting Strategy
Alainge showed early promise but couldn’t get it all together at the Padman stable but has since turned the corner since joining the Garret Lynch team. Won two on end before starting favourite in a metro race but stood in the gates when they opened and lost all chance. Was a really good winner at this track two back. Go on that form and respect back down in grade. Duo Perna often catches the eye without winning and did so two back when 4th behind the red hot Sav On Ice. Didn’t get into things at the Parks last time out but that track can play tricky to natural back markers. Draws wide but goes back anyway and Murray Bridge track suits. The Sav On Ice form will stack up nicely. Suggestive Miss started favourite at Gawler and was OK for 2nd after having every chance in running. Just wanted to lay in a bit under pressure. Is well placed at the weights dropping 4kg from last start with the claim for Caitlin Tootell. Decent enough form at this track. Piwhane is racing in honest form with 2 wins from his past 4 runs. Forget about Balaklava last start on a Heavy 9 when raced wide and dropped out. Form here at Murray Bridge is generally around the mark and is building a good association with Alysha Warren.
1. Shakespeare
5. Burning Bright
11. Flying Step
2. Space Equity
Betting Strategy
No bet race to end the day. Annoying to end the card with a poor staying event. Shakespeare will appreciate dropping back from metro level where he has been performing well without breaking through. Probably wasn’t a big fan on the trying heavy 10 conditions at Morphettville last start so prepared to forgive that. Drops back here and will enjoy the weight with the 3kg claim for Isaac Sit. Gets his chance to break through this prep. Burning Bright was OK at this track and trip at metro level last start. Drops back a few pegs here and draws for an easy run in transit. Like the engagement of Jason Holder as he is the states best distance rider. Flying Step doesn’t win out of turn but has been thereabouts of late. Caught the eye late over the 1500m at Gawler for 3rd. Might be looking for this longer trip. Space Equity is an 11 year old that still has the zest for racing. Resumed with a 4L 8th at Murray Bridge. Drops in grade here and is well placed with the 3kg claim for talented young apprentice Sophie Potter. Placed only start at the track/distance.
