Coffs Harbour is generally a track that plays fairly and with the expected conditions for todays Cup meeting it should lead to giving every runner a good chance to win from all positions here. The track is rated a soft 6 at the minute, but there is a potential that conditions are improving through the meeting.

STAR AMBITION looks the runner to beat here after an impressive last start win. He looks well set up from a map perspective and in this class, while he looks the hardest to beat his price isn’t hugely appealing to be betting so it will be a no bet race. ZOOM OUTCOME & BUCK PHAROAH have recent wins and appear most likely to cause an upset while MARKWELL DREAMER dropping in grade also gets a chance if he lands in a handy position in running.

He should be handy in the run and has been hitting the line well so looks to get his chance today. IMPENDING FORTUNE has placed in his last 2 starts and doesn’t look far away, rising to the 1400m suits. LORD OF FLAMES is the current favourite of the race, he was solid on debut and any improvement has him in a good position, but he may need luck from a wide barrier. PIEDI VELOCI draws well and can get the right run at them to have him close in the finish.

SHERRIFF CODY has placed in his last 2 starts but dropping back in distance for this today should be suitable. PURE DEAL was a handy winner 2 starts back before tackling a stronger race last time, looks better suited back down in grade today.

At the weights and given the prominent race map she gets, have to side with IT’S A KNOCKOUT who appears to get the best of the conditions here and looks the one to catch. Up in trip here at this point off her last 2 runs suits. SIBAAQ looks the class standout of the race, he has placed in his last 3 starts at a similar level but does have to handle a big weight. THE THREE HUNDRED was a good winner last start, he has been freshened for this race today with a recent trial, rates well but may need luck from the wide barrier. ZOUATICA maps as the leader of the race, he will be prominent in the run and wouldn’t surprise here if he can get away with some soft sectionals.
