John has worked in racing going on 16 years. Staring out as a Bookmakers Clerk in the Sydney ring and providing form to a select group of clients. He spent time working with leading Sydney trainers and breeders in an effort to expand his knowledge of the side of the business he knew little about.
When working on track he was approached and went to work for the highly regarded Humbleton Pty Ltd – where his knowledge base for video watching and form analysis was greatly broadened through their intensive training program. Upon leaving Humbleton he jumped the fence going to work privately for a prominent bookmaker – before eventually settling in risk management for a major corporate.
Working in a number of roles throughout the industry has allowed John to form an understanding not just of form study, but what goes into training and more importantly peaking of horses. All of which assists in trying to maintain an edge over the market.
For the past 5 years he has been concentrating on providing information on thoroughbred racing to Owners, Trainers and Punters alike through his company Racingwatch.com.au. He has also recently entered the realms of Jockey Management – taking on Sydney rider Joshua Parr.
