Race Analysis

Tough race with the three best dogs in the race, the Victorians Not Available, Mepunga Blazer and Hasten Slowly all drawing poorly with squeeze draws which makes it very difficult to find a bet so will be going with a double lay strategy.

MEPUNGA BLAZER set the track alight in breaking the track record here in his heat. The draw looks a big worry again but it was a big query last week as well and he still found a way to win. He is the obvious top pick in the race I am just not willing to take the short odds.

HASTEN SLOWLY can fence crash in his races so the wide draw looks to be a problem. He won well in his heat but he may have been a little lucky to land where he did without finding any trouble. I am banking on him not being able to get across early and getting shuffled back.

NOT AVAILABLE did nothing wrong in leading all the way in his heat. I have always rated him as a Box 1 bandit so from Box 5 he may not get any favours. If he was to find a forward position he may burn too many petrol tickets early and tire late.

IT’S DYLLAN hasn’t had much experience from wide draws, especially in big group races but I think he could get plenty of room and could run a cheeky race here.

JOYCE RUMBLE is one of Queensland’s most consistent chasers and could get forward early and give a big sight. She would need to be at her absolute best to win though.

JURY hasn’t won a race since October but third up from an injury enforced spell he has a sense of timing about him. The Tony Brett kennel is the best in Queensland and he is probably the best drawn dog in the race. I am just not as bullish due to the long run without a win.

GUNNADOO REV is ultra consistent and always puts in a great effort but looks outclassed here.

CODRINGTON KID is a super reliable beginner but may get too much pressure here and I can’t see him running into the placings.

1st – Mepunga Blazer (5)

2nd – Jury (1)

3rd – It’s Dyllan (8)
