BACK: 5. Polyglot (WIN) for 3 units (Rated at $1.80)
POLYGLOT resumes for a 2nd prep here. He brings in strong form lines from runs last prep including Listed & Open grade races. His only career win so far came on a heavy track so ticks that box for the expected conditions. Trial form has been solid and he looks the progressive type, if he has come on since that first prep he looks the right play in the race.

LAY: 10. Oh Diamond Lil (WIN) for 1 unit (Rated at $7.50)
This looks a competitive race which leads me into taking on early race favourite OH DIAMOND LIL. She is in solid form having won 2 on the bounce now, but this is a tougher challenge now against some handy types in PERFUMIST & EMMADELLA. While OH DIAMOND LIL may get a solid race map, she is untested on a heavy track with both of her 2 career wins coming on a good rated track.

ROSEHILL PREVIEW AND TIPS | EXPERT TIPS | SATURDAY DECEMBER 7TH 2024
RAIL: True | TRACK: Heavy 8
A wet track is certainly forecast for the meeting here today. How wet depends a lot on the amount of rain that falls through Friday. If the rain forecast does fall, expecting to see a heavy track but if no rain falls it may improve to a soft. With the wet track, the inside lanes in the straight will likely be inferior so watching for runners to peel away from those lanes and use the middle of the track.
6. Wodeton
1. The Magic Man
10. Sequel
8. Miss Fleetwood
Betting Strategy
WODETON makes his debut in this today. He was a high priced yearling and his trial form has been very solid. You would expect that given the wraps on him he should prove hard to beat in this, but for a debutant at those odds on a potentially heavy track, I am happy to leave the race completely alone. No bet.
6. Wal’s Angels
4. Scopics
15. Zippo Idea
5. Fiorsum Fred
Betting Strategy
WAL’S ANGELS gets a good set up in this tough race. He has drawn to get a softer run and has proven himself previously on a heavy track so conditions will suit.
SCOPICS comes into the race fitter to be 3rd up now and was close in a similar race last time out.
ZIPPY IDEA comes into the race 3rd up, she was a winner 3rd up previously and a wet track should be no issues.
FIORSUM FRED closes out the picks, he should be able to handle the conditions and maps well. It’s a tricky race, having no bet.

11. Lady Extreme
16. Shohisha
7. Rush Hour
4. Chief Conductor
Betting Strategy
This looks the toughest race of today.
LADY EXTREME is going along nicely, her recent form of 2nds are at a good level which should reflect well, the wide barrier does no favours though which is her risk. Race favourite, SHOHISHA ran on well last time out, if they can make up ground and she finishes off in a similar fashion she could go close.
RUSH HOUR wouldn’t surprise at big odds, he gets a solid race map and goes well in the wet.
CHIEF CONDUCTOR is another who handles a wet track and is dropping down slightly in grade and wouldn’t surprise at odds. Low confidence betting race.
1. Gilded Water
5. Tajanis
9. Impunity
10. Akkadian Emperor
Betting Strategy
GILDED WATER has impressed in both runs so far since arriving in the country. He looks a progressive stayer, won well over this trip last time out. A heavy weight on a heavy track is a query though so prefer to have no bet though.
TAJANIS gets a weight swing on the favourite from last start which may help him improve enough to push up.
IMPUNITY is in solid form having won 2 in a row, deserves to take a crack up in grade now and AKKADIAN EMPEROR looks ready for this trip now 3rd up and fitter.
9. Perfumist
2. Emmadella
10. Oh Diamond Lil

5. Saltcoats
1. Osipenko
6. Redbreast
2. Converge
Betting Strategy
SALTCOATS has been very solid in his last 2 runs winning 2 on the bounce. He looks perhaps best suited to a heavy track so conditions may play a key part in his chances.
OSIPENKO is hard to catch but has been competing in a stronger level and may finally find the right race.
REDBREAST continues to be competitive, she has a low weight in this and will likely race up on the speed so could be suited if controlling the race tempo.
CONVERGE drops slightly in grade and will appreciate the conditions.
5. Cigar Flick
2. Disneck
12. Midnight Opal
11. Keitel
Betting Strategy
BACK: 5. Cigar Flick (WIN) for 2 units (Rated at $3.00)
She has been hard to catch in her last few starts CIGAR FLICK. But the set up here today looks like it will give her every chance. This is a slight drop in grade from 2 previous runs up in Queensland. But her record on the heavy going (3:2-0-0) stands out so a wet track should suit. She maps to get back in running which is the risk, but J-Mac hops on board for the first time in some while now.
1. Bunker Hut
2. High Blue Sea
8. The Little Pumper
7. Silent Impact
Betting Strategy
There doesn’t look a lot between BUNKER HUT & HIGH BLUE SEA. The risk with HIGH BLUE SEA may be that he hasn’t had a win on a soft or heavy track to date. BUNKER HUT may be better suited on the heavy track and has found form of late running a string of 2nds together. The Waterhouse & Bott pair look very interesting and both will handle the going, THE LITTLE PUMPER appeals slightly more at the price but SILENT IMPACT showed good signs last time out.
5. Spring Lee
13. Cosmonova
2. Eye Of The Fire
10. Bunker Hut
Betting Strategy
BACK: 5. Spring Lee (WIN) for 1 unit (Rated at $5.00)
Big fan of SPRING LEE and she resumes here in this race and has previously produced some strong efforts fresh, her 1st up record is strong (3:2-0-0) so no knocks on her fitness and she did recently win a trial on the wet track. The wide barrier is a small concern though which holds me back from a bigger bet, but given the set up she looks worth a small play.
