This looks HIGH DUBAI’S race to loose today given the set up she appears to get. She has had 2x solid 3rds so far this prep over the 1000m. But now rising up slightly to the 1100m trip is perfect as she has a strong record over the trip (5:3-1-0) and is a winner 3rd up. She will race up on speed and be in a strong position, as well as proven on heavy tracks. Ideal set up here today and looks the one to beat.

ASSAILANT is one runner right up there in the market 3rd up here. But I feel with this set up here today, he may be in for a tough run. Drawn out wide does him no favours, so he may look to push forwards to over come that position but the race doesn’t lack for speed early which could make it awkward for him and as well as that, his better rated performances have come on dryer tracks, so if the run becomes a tough slog, he may not appreciate a deteriorating surface.

The rail at this track is out at a unique position for where it is usually placed when pushed out wide. Expecting the advantage for runners will be to settle in the front half of the field as majority of winners do come from positions closer to the lead at the 600m mark. Depending on how heavy the track is rated on race day, you would expect runners will come away from the inside lanes in the straight as they are expected to be the inferior ground.

The favourite RAGING FORCE looks the clear one to beat here given he is in career best form with 2 wins in a row and gets to ideal race map to be up on speed he looks the runner who can control this race from the front and will take some catching. HORSHOE HILL showed improvement from her debut performance to come out and win impressively at Hawkesbury. She needs to take a step up here but looks to have the scope to be competitive in this. JUST AWESOME is a debut winner rising in grade. He maps to at least trouble the favourite on speed so could also be in a strong position in running. Of the debutants in the race, the stand out looks to be CAESER who has showed good speed winning both recent trials.

IRON MAN finds himself slightly down in grade from solid recent runs and with a strong race map and proven on the heavy track, you would have to expect that he looks the runner to beat in this field. LA SIGNORA DANE has won 3 of 5 runs this prep, he best rated run of the 5 starts came on the heavy track so she does look suited in these conditions today. EQUILIBRIST can mix form, but his best is good enough to win races like these. There were signs last start that he could be back in stronger form and goes well in the wet. ZOURIPPER has talent but may need some luck given he may have to give a head start to some other favoured runners drawn below him.

EXIT FEE was an eye catching runner when resuming at Randwick last month. The though was that he may have some improvement to come out of that 1st up run and now fitter 2nd up, he should be the one to beat as long as he can handle the wet track conditions. He should get every chance to settle in a similar position to where he settled last start and with the added fitness, you expect to see him hit the line strongly now.

This was one of the more competitive races on the program. Did toss between GATEKEEPER & AMUSING who both get very good race maps and should be in strong positions. It may potentially come down to handles the conditions better so the fact that AMUSING has had a 1st up run and is potentially fitter may be her advantage. GOLDEN STRAAND broke through for his 1st win last start as a short price favourite, this is obviously harder but if the track has a favouring to on speed types, he will be in a strong position in run. FIRST MISSION has the right race map and is a winner on a heavy track so conditions should not be a worry for him here today.

STORM THE RAMPARTS is having a super prep with 2x wins and 2x 2nds from his 4 runs so far. He goes well on heavy tracks and maps much better here than last start so he should be able to again be around the mark and every chance. TARPAULIN looks the main danger but is coming off a long spell and 1st up into this. He has good form on heavy tracks which may help, but thinking TARPAULIN may have improvement to come and is one to follow out of this race potentially. SHALL BE has found winning form this prep and again maps to be in a strong position in running, how he handles the heavy track is the only query. DEPRIVATION may be better suited here today dropping back down in grade.

Found this to be one of the more competitive betting race of the entire meeting. The Victorian form of visitor ELOUYOU has been very good and in races that rate very similar to this today. He is ideally suited in wet conditions so find the right set up in this today. FLEETWOOD is dropping in grade from what he has been competing in recently. 2/2 wins on heavy tracks so gets suitable conditions as well. CIGAR FLICK is fitter 3rd up now and could be an improver in suitable conditions while WORLD ALLIANCE did find winning form last time out against a solid field, he has had a freshen up into this which also suits.

Today’s feature race is competitive and it feels a lot swings on conditions and race map as a lot of these rate very similar. GREEN FLY has been around the mark in similar level races of late, he is well suited at this 1400m trip and on a heavy track, how the track is playing is key as he may be a few pairs back so needs fair conditions. WELWAL was a big performer last time out behind an in form type, all reports are a heavy track suits so if that improves him off his last start he should go very close again. THUNDERLIPS is well suited back to the 1400m, his race map is ideal and has no issues on a heavy track and looks every chance for 3 wins in a row now. WHINCHAT is a consistent type who looks well suited getting to this Rosehill 1400m trip as he has won 2/2 at this track/trip.

KERGUELEN looks ideally set up to be winning this 3rd up here today. 2x runs over the 1200m have set him up well for this 1400m run here today and given his L600m was run at an above average figure last time out the 1400m feels as if it will be no query. The cherry on top for his form here today is the heavy track as well given his impressive record in the wet (5:3-2-0). He looks ready to find a peak performance 3rd up now in this et up.

History
In the early 1880s, founder John Bennett purchased a large block of land in Rosehill with a view to building a racecourse and recreation area. Construction began in 1883 and was completed in 1885, with a private railway line which connects the racecourse to the main line officially opening three years later. Construction costs for the entire site amounted to just over $20,000!
