NEWMARKET PREVIEW AND TIPS | EXPERT TIPS | SATURDAY OCTOBER 11TH 2025
RAIL: Stands course in use TRACK: Good to firm
Track should hopefully play more into the stand’s rail than it did yesterday.
1. First Conquest
4. Damysus
5. Gladius
2. Liberty Lane
Betting Strategy
BACK: 1. First Conquest (WIN) for 3 units (Rated at $3.00)
First Conquest is the home deck hero for me. He’ll relish this and despite his issues has been kept in training as he possesses a G1 turn of foot and knowing he handles the track he is a bet for me, whilst saving on the needs-to-be-gelded Damysus.
BACK: 4. Damysus (WIN) for 2 units (Rated at $3.00)
Hasn’t seen Newmarket but shaped like a good horse winning in France last time out. He can pose the most threat to the Godolphin fancy
4. Look To The Stars
7. Pierre Bonnard
8. Spyce
3. Endorsement
Betting Strategy
BACK: 4. Look To The Stars (WIN) for 2 units (Rated at $3.00)
Look To The Stars continues to build with each run and there might be more improvement to come operating on the track he’s trained on. He loved the stiff finish at Newbury last time and it gets stiffer here.
5. New Zealand
1. Al Zanati
7. Straight Up
4. Hankelow
Betting Strategy
BACK: 5. New Zealand (WIN) for 2 units (Rated at $5.00)
New Zealand showed huge improvement from his debut at start two, leading all the way in a big field at the Curragh. The form of that looked decent with Isaac Newton winning at Goodwood from that race. If he’s grown again and improved once more this is within reach at a nice price to find out.
8. Saba Desert
2. Distant Storm
9. Zavateri
4. Gstaad
Betting Strategy
BACK: 8. Saba Desert (WIN) for 1 unit (Rated at $9.00)
I’m not giving up on Saba Desert just yet even though it looks like punters have. He looked exceptional early doors and has somewhat gone off the boil since but I think returning to Newmarket will bring out his best and if they hug the rail he’s in with a shout of outrunning his price in a big way.
BACK: 4. Distant Storm (WIN) for 4 units (Rated at $2.50)
Distant Storm looked top class and one of the best bets of the Ebor meeting before missing the jump and going half-mad in running. He redeemed himself absolutely hacking up here last time and is taken to go in once more.
1. Hipop De Loire
9. Beylerbeyi
19. Belgravian
12. Mordor
Betting Strategy
BACK: 1. Hipop De Loire (WIN) for 1 unit (Rated at $5.00)
Can’t seem to escape backing Hipop and he’s in again once more at suitable conditions with a tempo to chase. He’s shaped like he wants a trip like this having won over 4400m over the timber and then running a G2 third over 3600m. Big field should mean big tempo to bring him into it.
BACK: 9. Beylerbeyi (WIN) for 1 unit (Rated at $7.00)
Beylerbeyi keeps running extremely well from uncompromising positions. If they go too hard here he might just be able to tank into it and come over the top late on, particularly if the far side rail comes well into play.
BACK: 12. Mordor (WIN) for 1 unit (Rated at $8.00)
Mordor is going to get held onto for as long as possible but will relish this test and this ground. He pinged around the Curragh last start, beating 19 rivals home in a race short of the trip he needs. Also ran a belter over the marathon trip at Goodwood. He is airborne.
2. Pacifica Pier
6. Cashbox
3. Blue To Blue
4. Wedonttellies
Betting Strategy
Nothing stands out here
5. Woodhay Wonder
3. Dubai Treasure
6. Celandine
8. Hold A Dream
Betting Strategy
BACK: 5. Woodhay Wonder (WIN & PLACE) for 2 units (Rated at $6.00)
Woodhay Wonder simply grows an extra leg here and is a three time winner from 5 runs. Freshened up after a disappointing summer campaign, this could be what she needs to bounce back at a smashing price.
