He would need to quickly find the level he was producing last prep to warrant the short price here again in this, but he hasn’t looked to be going that well this prep. A slower L600m in his most recent run didn’t suggest he is at his best either at this 1600m trip.

Generally an even playing track that gives all runners a good chance. There is a forecast for some light showers to fall during the meeting and with that given the case, you would expect the track gets no worse than a Soft 6 so expecting the track plays fairly with these conditions.

Tough staying race kicks off the program today with mixing form lines through the race making it tough to identify stand out chances. Have to give an edge to COTO DE CAZA here who has been building up in trip well this prep and looks best suited here than any other run he has contested so far this prep. WHETU is another runner who has been building up in trip well this prep, he will be best suited if more rain than expected hits the track. MALBROK CASTLE produced the fastest L600m of any horse in the race in their last starts when over the 2100m so rising in trip here today could suit and FIGHTING MAGNUS rounds out the picks as he maps to be out in front controlling this race which could see him get a soft run and take catching.

What looks a very open race. HILLIER resumes for her 2nd prep here and should find this a much easier level than what she was contesting through her first time in work. She only contested Group level races in her 4 career runs including a 2nd placing on debut in Group 3 level so she looks the stand out. HARRY’S EVIDENCE was strongly supported on debut before a forgivable run last start when pulling up with an issue, expect he can bounce back here. FIREWORKS gets an ideal race map and has trialed well leading up to resuming here today. CELLARMASTER looks the best of those on debut off some handy trial form as well.

INVISIBLE MAGIC ran 2nd in a very similar race to this last time out and currently is at double that price. She gets a good map in this today considering runners drawn outside her may have to work hard for position while she gets the softer run. SHANONI is resuming off some moderate trials, but she has some strong form lines through the races she contested in her 1st prep, expect she will hit the line strongly but may have improvement to come yet. LE CHOCOLAT has been met with heavy support in early markets and maps well, given he has the extra race fitness off 1 run may also be an advantage and watching any market moves as a guide for European import STARRY DESERT who has looked handy enough in recent trials.

SPACEBALLS looks ready for this 1400m trip 3rd up today after producing a fast closing L600m last start over the 1200m. This race map sets up well again for her so with a clear run at them she should prove hard to hold out if she can run up to a similar level as last start.

COLD BREW was a strong winner at a short price last time out, he now needs to take the step up in level to BM grade, but gets every chance to do so with a good race map again. COSMIC LAD was a handy winner when resuming and can take improvement from that 2nd up and rising slightly in trip. SMOKE ON THE WATER might have to work a little bit more than the favourite for a position early, but is coming in to this off a handy win last time and CARNEGIE HILL appeared a little flat 2nd up off a win fresh, he could bounce back.

Tough betting race to close out the meeting with a handful of runners close in the market at the top. THE GREY was well supported last time and but disappointed, he can certainly bounce back in this dropping down in grade from last time. EXPIDO broke through for a maiden win last start in good fashion. He hit the line well enough to suggest he can handle a rise in trip today. OAKFIELD NEPTUNE was a winner here as a short price favourite when on debut, he showed good speed that day but may need some luck from the wide barrier. OUR LITTLE STAR looks suited rising to the 1200m here today as well.
