BACK: 3. Maracourt (WIN) for 2 units

Maracourt was the biggest thing beaten you will ever see last Saturday. Slow out and then was horribly blocked in the straight. Should have bolted in. Like the jockey change to Jake Toeroek here. He draws well and has a great record at Murray Bridge.

8. Territorian
9. Snore Room
5. Bay Of Portland
1. Colmar

2yo races very hard to line up. Terrotorian is unraced but looked the best of the trial form with a soft all the way trial win by 4L under no riding.

Snore Room started hard in the market on debut but did too much wrong in running after jumping poorly. Knocked up late but burning too much petrol told. Can probably forgive that and has race experience on his side.

Bay Of Portland looked professional at the Gawler trials finishing 0.20L 3rd under a throttle. That trial was significantly quicker than Territorian’s so it might be worth throwing in the mix.

Colmar was OK first up. Has the most career starts vs rivals and had solid form last prep.

Betting Strategy

No bet.

4. Gold Spy
5. Kalbarri
11. Dark Helmet
9. Our Glamour Girl

Gold Spy is on the 6 day turn around since having no luck at Strathalbyn when badly blocked for runs from the 500m to the 200M. Got working late but the damage was done. Previous run was excellent. Draws well and can bounce back.

Kalbarri ran a much better race last time out for a narrow 2nd behind Valentina Charm when was just grabbed late on the line. He races well here at Murray Bridge and is a horse that might have more upside than some of these.

Dark Helmet started big odds iand worked through the line well for 2.2L 5th. Will be fitter for that and drops nicely in weight.

Our Glamour Girl is racing really well without luck. Something beaten last time out. She races well here and like the engagement of a senior rider in Kayla Crowther.

Betting Strategy

No bet.

2. Garrachico
4. Look Sharpish
3. Lake’s Folly
10. Fizique

Look Sharpish has been OK lately across the border. She’s better than what she’s produced the past couple. Gets in with 52kg with the claim for Maggie Collett which will go a long way in a distance race.

Lake’s Folly is working home well of late without winning. Ran OK at G3 level behind The Map over this trip a couple back. Likes Murray Bridge.

Fizique steps up in class but smashed them last weekend at Strathalbyn. The Sarah Rutten team is flying so no surprise to see this horse in the numbers.

Betting Strategy

BACK: 2. Garrachio (WIN) for 2 units

Garrachico put two excellent 2nds together before being outclassed in the Melbourne Cup qualifier Andrew Ramsden last Saturday. This is a clear drop in class and draws to do no work. Like the engagement of SA’S best distance jockey in Jason Holder. Should win.

1 Surprise Coming
7. Dodd
5. The Stalker
4. Let’s Get Down

The Stalker likes to make his own luck on speed and ran really well for 2nd in the same race as Dodd. Just meets that horse a little worse off at the weights but should be thereabouts again from the soft draw. Like the booking of Todd Pannell.

Let’s Get Down brings interstate form across. Was just grabbed late at Ballarat last start. The Stokes/Neindorf combo is flying at the moment.

Betting Strategy

BACK: 1. Surprise Coming (WIN) for 2 units

Surprise Coming is a very talented horse resuming. He should have won a listed race at Flemington two back before perhaps coming to the end of his prep last start. Been given 7 months off for this. He’s a winner fresh and has won at Murray Bridge too. Gets in well with the claim. Should settle back with hot speed on and come down the outside late.

BACK: 7. Dodd (WIN) for 1 unit

Dodd was specked in the market in a hot race last time out and didn’t have the best of luck in the straight. Gets a big weight drop from that with the smart claim of Rochelle Milnes. Draws well. Should be near the finish.

11. Foxy Femme
8. Komachi
12. Startide
4. Sunzou

Komachi was excellent first up before just getting into trouble  and working home well enough. Forgive that performance. Drops right back in trip but draws for an easy time of things.

Sunzou is racing in great heart since joining the Travis Doudle stable. Ran 2nd fresh to Losesomewinmore who has since gone on to towel up a strong Flemington Sprint race. That ties in well for an event like this. 3KG claim helps offset the big weight.

Betting Strategy

BACK: 11. Foxy Femme (WIN AND PLACE) for 1 unit

Foxy Femme is racing well this prep with a win and 2 placings from 3 runs. Wanted to race fiercely last start and that proved costly. Still ran very well for 3rd. She races well at Murray Bridge and has a good association with Dom Tourneur. Should settle back and sweep at them late.

6. Wine Baron
5. Merchant Boss
4. Chipson
9. Reservior Dog

Merchant Boss has come back in good order this time in and has run a couple of close up placings of late. He’s fitter for 2 runs in and will appreciate stepping up to 1400m. Chipson worked through the line well first up before potentially being in the wrong part of the track last time out and knocked up late. Has ability on his day and could be the knockout here.

Reserviour Dog was OK first up for the Clarken/Oshea yard but wanted to lay in under pressure and then found trouble late. Will be better for the run, enjoy the extra trip and has won 2nd up in the past.

Betting Strategy

BACK: 6. Wine Baron (WIN) for 2 units

Wine Baron resumes from a spell and was very unlucky fresh last prep. Then raced wide without cover and pulled up lame then spelled. Tuned up for this with a nice 2nd in a trial. Draws well and looks to have good upside.

3. Maracourt
4. Commander Meroo
1. Outta Compton
2. Magnum Bullett

Commander Meroo is another horse who races well here. Was a strong winner at mid-week level here last time out. Niendorf sticks the ride. Gives the impression the extra furlong suits.

Outta Compton comes across from the Mark Webb stable. Was a good winner fresh but raced a bit plain 2nd up. Forgive that and 1400m is ideal now.

Magnum Bullett gets the blinkers off here. Been racing well this prep and probably has stronger form than the rest of the South Australians.

Betting Strategy

2. Bolt By
3. Smokin Princess
11. Superior Sam
7. Fox Gem

Smokin Princess comes across from the Michelle Payne yard and ran very well for 4L 5th at Caulfield last start. This looks an easier, draws well and gets the services of Todd Pannell.

Superior Sam is 3rd up here. Was good first up then plain 2nd up. He’s a winner 3rd up over this distance. Drops in grade and like the services of Kayla Crowther. Should be swooping late. Fox Gem races well at Murray Bridge. He’s up in grade but drops significantly in weight and gets the services of Lachlan Neindorf. Proven over this track and distance.

Betting Strategy

BACK: 2. Bolt By (WIN AND PLACE) for 1 unit

Massive performance last start by Bolt By who was beaten by the bad barrier. Sat 3 wide the trip on a hot speed and did a great job to box on for 3rd. Racing well with no luck at all this prep. Finally draws a barrier and has a great record at Murray Bridge.

BACK: 2. Bolt By (WIN AND PLACE) for 1 unit

3. Larimer Street
13. Sweet Baby Boom
9. Press Down
6. Karacasu

Betting Strategy

BACK: 13. Sweet Baby Boom (WIN AND PLACE)

Sweet Baby Boom jumps up a few grades here but the first up run for the Clarken and O’Shea yard was excellent. Couldn’t keep up over the 1050m scamper but last 200m was very good. The step up to 1200m suits and has great 2nd up form.

BACK: 13. Sweet Baby Boom (WIN AND PLACE)

10. Cool The Jets
8. Sachem
1. Three Rings
5. Dawnburst

Three Rings is racing very well this prep for Cody Reardon. Made very good ground on a strong race on Goodwood Day when 2.9L 10th. He drops in grad here but gets in at the same weight with the 2kg claim for the in-form Alana Livesey.

Dawnburst is a consistent type resuming who can pull out big races at a price. Is a 2x winner from 5 fresh attempts and likes Murray Bridge. Gets in lightly with the claim for Rochelle Milnes.

Betting Strategy

BACK: 10. Cool The Jets (WIN) for 1 unit

Not much went right for Cool The Jets last weekend on a tricky and bias Morphettville Parks track last weekend. That was a pretty hot form race. He draws to do no work here and regular rider Dominic Tourneur goes back aboard.

BACK: 8. Sachem (WIN) for 1 unit

Sachem was huge fresh for Clarken/Oshea before getting along way back last start and made good headway again late but was never a winning factor. Think the wide open spaces of Murray Bridge suits.
