Lachlan Mosley
BACK: 3. Great Maximus (WIN) for 2 units
Great Maximus is well placed here to win again after a dominant display at Murray Bridge when peeling off them and scoring with ease. Actually meets key rivals better at the weights with the claim for Taylor Johnstone. Is 2/2 at this track and distance. Might just need a touch of luck from the tricky gate. Delightful Shecky is better for two runs back and probably was in the worst part of the going when a closing 4th at Morphettville last time out. He loves this track/distance and likes the engagement of M.Nunes. Kinetic Jewell is up in grade but gets down in the weights after leading but was grabbed late last time out. She has a good record at this track/distance and Neindorf jumps off the well-fancied stablemate to ride this one on the minimum is a good push. Starlite Valley looks back in better touch after a poor campaign last prep. Ticking over nicely with two third placings. Fitter for that and draws to do no work from the pole.

MORPHETTVILLE PREVIEW AND TIPS | EXPERT TIPS | SATURDAY JUNE 21ST 2025
RAIL: +13m 1200m-W/Post, +8m Remainder. Sectional 617 m TRACK: Soft 6
Outer track. Potential upgrade to a Soft 5
15. From The Block
4. Kikkulu
2. Coorong Tiger
3. Dapper Don
Betting Strategy
No bet race to start the day. Very difficult to line the race form and the trial form together. From The Block is the watch though. A Sha Tin import that’s been transferred to the Richard and Chantelle Jolly yard that has been tuned up for this with two impressive trial wins. Kikkulu and Coorong Tiger have shown enough at recent trials to figure here and Dapper Don finished 3rd to Caladan who has since won again. Not getting involved in this but perhaps watch market moves here if you want to dive in.
8. Kirkliston Blue
2. Lakes Folly
5. There Goes My Hero
1. Wisaka
Lake’s Folly finished down the track in that race but was blocked on the turn and lost momentum. Picked up well late for 7th but the damage was done. Impressive winner two back. Draws well and the 3kg claim helps the cause.
There Goes My Hero is another coming from that race when just doing too much work up front and wilted late for 5L 4th. He’s a consistent type that has good form around the top few here so must include. Wil be hard to catch with the featherweight 52kg.
Wisaka comes across from a dominant Swan Hill victory by 3L. Steps back to metro level here but these aren’t the strongest of staying races and always respect the Henry Dwyer stable when they shuttle them across.
Betting Strategy
BACK: 8. Kirkliston Blue (WIN AND PLACE) for 2 units
Kirkliston Blue looks extremely well weighted here with the 3kg claim for Alan Lai getting in at 51kg. Did some work to lead and was a sitting shot for High Society Girl last start but kept finding along the rail and was only gabbed late. Meets that horse now 3kg better at the weights and should be able to turn the tables.

15. Duo Perna
10. Zarkana
3. Starts Now
9. Streetcar Apollo
Zarkana has a bit of talent but she’s constantly letting the punters down. Was heavily back last week but got a long way out her ground. Made a sweeping run but peaked with about 150m to go. On the quick back up here and best is good enough. Taking on trust though. 2kg claim helps the cause.
Starts Now is racing very well with two second placings both runs this prep. Was just nabbed right on the line last time out. Has a great record on the the outer track here and can go one better. Deserves a in.
Streetcar Appollo has changed his racing tactics from a backmarker to an on pace horse and is racing much more consistently since. Looks the likely leader here that could take some running down. Justin Potter rates the horse well.
Betting Strategy
BACK: 15. Duo Perna (WIN AND PLACE) for 1 unit
If Duo Perna can sneak into the field then he’s a good long odds hope here. He didn’t have much luck last start when blocked for runs but kept coming at the line for 4th behind the talented Synchro. Both runs for Sandi Brennan since coming across from Tom Dabernig have been very good.

1. Dobbinair
11. Sav On Ice
3. Stirrup Cup
5. Big Brute
Stirrup Cup ran the race of his life when 2nd in the Listed Adelaide Guineas before just getting too far back at Sandown in a quality race but worked through the line OK for 4L 6th. Drops back sharply in grade and loves this distance.
Big Brute is a talent but was a shade disappointing for 3rd when favourite last time out. The tight turning Parks track probably didn’t suit but gets back to the outer track here where he was a tragedy beaten two back. Can bounce back with the gear changes.
Betting Strategy
BACK: 1. Dobbinair (WIN) for 2 units
Good race this. Dobbinair is a talented horse that has come back from a break well enough albeit not much has been going right in races. Was trapped 4 wide the trip last start on a heavy and understandably knocked up. Forgive that effort and should be suited by the rise in trip and gear change.
BACK: 11. Sav On Ice (WIN) for 2 units
Sav On Ice got a mile out his ground last weekend but finished harder than the rest for an eye-catching 0.7L 5th. Would have won in two more bounds. The step from 1200m to 1500m looks ideal here. Draws out but gets back with cover and floods home late.
6. High On Sugar
9. Purrect Line
11. Endless Forever
5. Tiz Time
Betting Strategy
Very tricky race to figure out when the winner potentially not being in this top 4. Genuine 10-12 chances.
High On Sugar was a moral beaten two back then last start ran a narrow second at Murray Bridge when stayed along the fence which was potentially a touch slower than other parts of the track. Fitter for two runs back and loves the sting out. Deserves a win.
Purrfect Line doesn’t know how to run a bad race. Seven out of his past eight starts the horse has been within a length of the winner. Pretty hard to ignore a stat like that! Looked all over a winner last start but was gunned down on the line by Daisydoo in a hot BM66. Can go one better here and gets in light.
Endless Forever is first up for Michael Hickmott since spelling after a strong debut win. Steps up in grade here but did look to trial well and natural progression should take the Filly a long way here. He’s a master of placing his untapped horse in grades like this.
Tiz Time comes across from the Kennewell/Yeomans yard and has put together a couple of second placings this prep. Up in grade but drops 4kg in weight.
7. Clarence
10. Up The Den
15. Palm Of Jumeira
1. Komachi
Up The Den is a lightly raced 3yo that has done nothing wrong in all four career runs. Last start just probably got to the front a touch too soon and was a sitting duck but boxed on steadily for a close up 1.1L 6th. Likes to lead so if the horse gets across and can stack them up for a couple of cheap sectionals then he will be hard to get past.
Palm Of Jumeira was heavily backed into favouritism last time out but was a touch disappointing when leading and only boxing on solid for 3rd behind the stablemate The Doll. Is probably better ridden with a sit and like the engagement of regular stable rider Lachlan Neindorf. Can bounce back.
Komachi returns from a break down in grade but has been given the big 63kg to carry. That will prove a task but the horse has placed 5 times from 6 fresh runs and does perform well at this outer track. Look late.
Betting Strategy
BACK: 7. Clarence (WIN AND PLACE) for 2 units
The big horse Clarence didn’t have much go right first up when hemmed away on the fence in an uncomfortable position but really got through the line hard in a blanket finish for 1.7L 9th. He’s a big striding animal that needs open air. Rochellle Milnes sticks the ride and the horse runs well 2nd up. Will just need luck at the right time.

15. Hypernova
14.. Cicala
4. Ad Astra
5. Noietze
Cicala has to step from a debut dominant mid-week win to a strong city sprint but the manner in which the horse got through the line suggests there might be plenty of upside. Gets in with 53kg after the claim and with open improvement the horse can no doubt go close again.
Ad Astra resumes from a spell and is another horse that looks to have open potential. The horse has only missed the placings once in 7 career runs and that was at Listed level before a break. Draws well and Pannell on fresh should suggest the horse is ready to go, Noietze was a close up 3rd as hot favourite on resumption when loomed to win but just couldn’t go on with it. He will strip fitter for that and won easily 2nd up last prep.
Betting Strategy
BACK: 15. Hypernova (WIN AND PLACE) for 2 units
Hypernova is building towards a win after a couple of real eye-catching 3rd placings at Murray Bridge and The Parks track. Justin Potter rides the horse well and should be suited by the swooping outer track and the extra 100m in trip. Looks a nice each-way price to find out here.

14. Mystical Wisdom
1. Corona Lad
3. Oxford Blue
11. Harley N Rose
Oxford Blue is a new addition to the Stephen Theodore yard since crossing from Melbourne metro staying races when performing OK without winning but with a strong S.P profile. Those races are generally stronger than ours here so respect that and the fact Stephen Theodore gets them going straight away. Deserves to be favourite.
Harley N Rose was noticed getting through the line well for 2L 7th over the 1600m at Murray Bridge. 1800m suits now and draws for a soft run in transit
Betting Strategy
BACK: 14. Mystical Wisdom (WIN) for 2 units
Mystical Wisdom has really caught the eye the past couple of starts when finding the line very strongly. The latest for a 0.5L 5th at Murray Bridge over the 1600m. Would have won in a couple more bounds so the step to 1800m looks the goods. Gets in very well with the 2kg claim for Taylor Johnstone. Should be flashing late.
BACK: 1. Corona Lad (WIN) for 1 unit
Corona Lad comes off a 4 week freshen after failing at Sandown albeit only 3.3L away. Freshened up and won a jump out in between runs. Has a great record here when he jumps the border neve missing a place in both attempts at the track. Gets some of the heavy weight relief with the claim for Rochelle Miles. Always respect the astute interstate stables when they cross.
5. Cool Magnum
7. Lovely Lookin
13. Star Sirius
3. Let’s Get Down
Star Sirius has had a couple of runs in Melbourne and performed well with a win at Flemington and a closing effort at Caulfield without really threatening. Will find this grade easier and if they go too fast up front expect this mare to be flying over them late. Let’s Get Down was in the market in the Golden Topaz but just drifted a long way back from the draw and couldn’t really get into things. Best work was late for 4L 6th. Forgive that. The horse is 1/1 at this track and distance and always respect the Stokes/Neindorf combo.
Betting Strategy
BACK: 5. Cool Magnum (WIN AND PLACE) for 1 unit
Cool Magnum started a despised outsider in the Listed Golden Topaz at Swan Hill but defied the big odds with an excellent 2L 4th when kept coming through the line and loomed to win it at one stage. He goes excellent here at this track and distance and meets Let’s Get Down 3.5kg better at the weights for beating him home in the same race. Looks like a good long odds play to end the day. Hard to fault anything Lovely Lookin is doing. The horse just never runs a bad race. Was a dominant winner last start and nly rises 1kg in weight. Will be right there in the finish again.

When you place a lay bet, you are betting on something not to happen. Let’s think about the Melbourne Cup again. Remember: there can only be one winner. But what about the others trailing behind them? If you place a lay bet in a “Win” market, you can celebrate if the runner tails off at the back of the field.
