DONCASTER PREVIEW AND TIPS | EXPERT TIPS | SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 15TH 2024
TRACK: Good
Stand’s side looks the place to be in the straight so I’ll be angling for bets there and avoiding the other races.
3. Brave Nation
11. Arecibo
1. Tees Spirit
9. Good Earth
Betting Strategy
BACK: 3. Brave Nation (WIN) for 4 units (Rated at $2.50)
Brave Nation loves this course and is ideally placed to record his fourth win here from five runs. The only other run was 2nd. Tough to make a case for what can beat him and he’ll get a cart from Tees Spirit drawn next door.
7. Thunder Blue
5. Fifty Nifty
2. Ten Pounds
3. Germanic
Betting Strategy
BACK: 7. Thunder Blue (WIN) for 1 unit (Rated at $7.00)
Thunder Blue loves rattling home at the end of the race and stepping up in trip could bring out some benefit this time around. Drawn to launch down the near side late on and coincidentally gets ten pounds off Ten Pounds.
The run at Newcastle was much better than it looks when the placegetters either side of him were drawn 13 and 14 and he was in 2
BACK: 5. Fifty Nifty (WIN) for 2 units (Rated at $4.00)
Fifty Nifty is back in form and his jockey is in even better form. Fresh from a four-timer Callan can have this gelding bouncing on top of the ground once more after two soft track flops. Waiting All Night and Jumby have franked the form from his Newmarket success on rattling fast ground so the quicker the better here.
8. Fair Angellica
10. Queen Of Mougins
4. Elim
3. Doom
Betting Strategy
BACK: 8. Fair Angellica (WIN) for 3 units (Rated at $3.00)
There was a big enough opinion of Fair Angellica to book R Moore at Deauville and she recorded a slick success in decent time. She’s been kept away from rock hard tracks in search of cut and this track has raced with the sting out all week. She’s clearly the one to beat for me and would be half the price if Moore was on again.
1. Terries Royale
13. Secret Beach
16. Ten Commitments
11. Crown’s Lady
Betting Strategy
Charity race for retired jockeys. Leave me out.
3. Brewing
1. Orazio
10. Knebworth
6. Spangled Mac
Betting Strategy
BACK: 3. Brewing (WIN) for 1 unit (Rated at $5.00)
No idea if he’ll handle turf but he’s won 5 of 7 races. Easily the one to beat if he does as he’d trounce the majority of the field on synthetic. Stable is flying.
7. Lennox
2. Bowood
6. Young Fire
11. Liberty Coach
Betting Strategy
No interest from me. Watching purely for a future Aus import prospect in Lennox.
8. Rock Opera
2. Havana Pusey
9. Imperial Guard
1. Makanah
Betting Strategy
BACK: 8. Rock Opera (WIN & PLACE) for 1 unit (Rated at $6.00)
So much has gone wrong for Rock Opera lately but his luck might finally turn at a price. Missed out when drawn the wrong side of the action the last few and won here over this trip a couple of months ago. Should be in the thick of the action here and I expect a big run.
BACK: 9. Imperial Guard (WIN) for 2 units (Rated at $4.00)
Imperial Guard has been running well in class 2 and class 3 races and now drops to class 4 and is drawn the traditionally faster wing. As long as he’s not in a bottleneck he’s going to have a say in a much weaker race than anything he’s faced in months.
