MEMSIE STAKES | FINAL FIELD – KEY CHANCES

1. Mr Brightside – Has won over $13M in prizemoney. Goes into this first up, with winkers off. Does map nicely but may not be fully wound up here.

5. Pinstriped – Hit the line solidly for 2nd in the PB Lawrence first up. Ran 2nd in that race last year to Mr Brightside when first up last year. Has the fitness edge this year. Tongue tie off. Can figure.

6. Antino – Has won 10 from 17, including 4 from 5 fresh. Looked good in latest jumpout. Can surprise here.

7. Pride Of Jenni – 4 wins and 2 seconds from last 6 G1 runs. Has never won first up from 7 attempts, but is a different mare now and expected to be fit here.

MEMSIE STAKES | BETTING STRATEGY

Winner expected to come from the top 4 selections. Not a great deal of value around in a tricky race. Mr Brightside and Pride Of Jenni the clear class runners of the field, but are first up with big preps ahead of them. Antino and Pinstriped have the fitness edge to try and offset the class and speed gap. Intriguing race from a future Spring standpoint, but staying out today.
