Track: Gold Coast | Distance: 1200m | Type: 2YO Restricted Listed SW | Rail Position:+2M 950-400, True remainder of Course | Condition: Soft 6| Prizemoney: $2,000,000.

Firm, fast ground suited on-pace horses last week. If no rain arrives I expect similar condition / tempo related.

Looks likely to be a decent tempo this year. Can’t see any reason why STORM BOTY wont find the fence and run them along. Want to be against anything drawn outside it chasing, and tucked in behind that tempo will be a good position in run.

  1. Storm Boy – Ticked the 1200m box in emphatic fashion last time. Deserved fav and horse to beat.
  2. Spywire – Thought it should be a $10 chance, can’t have it.
  3. Parkour – Gate has cruelled her, needs luck but has the ability.
  4. Highness – Great chance off last effort, maps to get the right run and leading hope.
  5. Wolfgang – Did enough last time to suggest can finish Top 5 with luck.
  6. Vianarra – Gate/ Map likely against here.
  7. Mishani Hercules – Not today, but good luck to team Mishani (rinse, repeat)
  8. Arabian Summer – Killed them 7 days in weaker race.
  9. Mishani Aloha – Not today, but good luck to team Mishani (rinse, repeat)
  10. Poster Girl – Top 5 looks best hope here.
  11. Ernos Cube – My best roughie. Liked its run last time, and looks the big improver here.
  12. Jennis Meadow – Top 5 looks best hope here.
  13. Territory Ash – Unlikely to figure here.
  14. Mishani Ego – Not today, but good luck to team Mishani (rinse, repeat)
  15. Mishani Express – Not today, but good luck to team Mishani (rinse, repeat)
  16. Sheza Chiquitita – Nope.
  17. Spirited

#1 STORM BOY the obvious pick, but I think the price around $2.30 is no overs.

#2 SPYWIRE looks unsuited drawn outside of STORM BOY and I anticipate will be out of gas at the 100m.

#11 ERNOS CUBE look to be the big improver and possibly the horse the market has missed. Can settle closer than last start and close off strong.

LAY: #2 Spywire (WIN)

Lay the win and lay the place for something small/cream.

LAY: #2 Spywire (PLACE)

BACK: #11 Ernos Cube (WIN)

Back small win and bigger place.

BACK: #11 Ernos Cube (PLACE)
