Looks COLUMBUS’s race to loose here, he has been well supported in both runs so far into his career and looks progressive enough to be winning at maiden level, but is quite short to be betting. IRONHEART & JONSON look the main dangers, both who race on speed and could be suited here but not keen to bet into this race.

The two main runners with the strongest exposed form have been scratched from this which makes it tougher. Leaning the way on the debutaunts REWRITE & SANT GERVASI and the key runners in this race based off their trial form. MAJESTIC LEGEND comes next, the runner who looks to have the strongest race day form but it is a no bet race

BACK: 1. Bluebird Bay (WIN) for 2 units (Rated at $2.20)

BLUEBIRD BAY looks well set up here. He was solid in a similar race last start but is going to be fitter now 2nd up where he has previously performed well. Tactically he maps well up on speed so expect in the small field he can get a favourable tempo and if that is the case he should prove hard to catch.

Betting Strategy

On paper the runner with the best form appears to be SASSY ABBEY, she looks well rated in this race but would want to see the track playing evenly before betting given the wide barrier she jumps from could be awkward. EL QASABI looks to resume in good order after 2 good trials recently, if the track is favourable to the inside that sets him up well. GREAT HEIGHTS & TAHURANGI both have improvement to give after disappointing debut runs

The recent form of HORIZONS has been strong and she looks the runner to beat here fit and 3rd up now, the race sets up well if she can improve. DEBELLO will be well suited dropping back slightly in grade and maps to race on speed which may suit best. MAH ALI is going to be better suited today dropping back to the 1500m and PREFER DIAMONDS is in super form having won two on the bounce and can continue to progress. Very open race so not keen to be betting on the short price fave HORIZONS

Betting Strategy

Looks the race of the day and very open at the top end of the market. MAGIC PHAROAH is suited dropping down in grade and drawn an inside barrier as long as the track is playing fairly. PRESELEY drops down in grade as well, the race map looks favorable from his barrier and he can settle in a strong position just off the speed. FORMAT looks the likely leader and will have improvement 2nd up and rising in trip. THEBUDGIESMUGLA is a close watch making his debut for a new stable but does have a big weight to deal with

BACK: 2. Pretty Tavi (WIN) for 1 unit (Rated at $4.50)

PRETTY TAVI looks well suited today compared to her last few starts. She will drop in grade having run at Rosehill in her last 4 starts, so back down in an easier race and getting onto a dry track looks key, her better form comes on dry ground and she has had to go around on the heavy in her last few, looks better set up here today.

BACK: 8. Aligned (WIN) for 2 units (Rated at $2.50)

ALIGNED fell marginally short last start when running a close 2nd in a very similar race to this today. A slight rise in trip today looks ideal as he can be in a good position late in a race that potentially is run quickly, it could see him set up to get a soft run off that speed and be one of the strongest late.
