CRANBOURNE PREVIEW AND TIPS | EXPERT TIPS | FRIDAY OCTOBER 10TH 2025
RAIL: True TRACK: Good 4
The first meeting back at Cranbourne and I would usually expect this meeting to play very hard on-speed, that may be slightly cancelled out by a Northwesterly wind, which is a headwind down the back straight, keep an eye on that.
9. Scoop The Pool
12. Seychelles
6. Akari Spirit
3. Hard Grunt
Betting Strategy
As the market would suggest, this appears a two-horse race to kick off proceedings. Going with Scoop The Pool ever so slightly on top, who brings in good NSW ratings.
1. Fortune Link
6. Mandraki
2. Zwasp
4. Highstrung
Betting Strategy
Hard to go past Fortune Link, who has less convictions than a horse like Zwasp and has been good in both runs this preparation, should put himself on-speed too.
2. Elly Dee
3. Lika Mosh
5. Street Swagger
1. Rushford
Betting Strategy
Less than no idea here.
11. She’s Got The Cash
8. Za Za Best
7. Let It Beel
1. Ilovethistown
Betting Strategy
LAY: 7. Let It Beel (WIN) for 2 units (Rated at $2.90)
I am against Let It Beel at the price, yes he is coming through clearly the strongest form race and had a strong SP on that occasion but I thought he had the race shape to suit and was very weak late at the end of 1600m.
2. Coco Jen
3. Global Eclipse
6. Street Lark
5. Enchanted Jenni
Betting Strategy
Tricky little race, Coco Jen looks the most solid in the race but others including Global Eclipse who sparked up with blinkers on in the latest jumpout probably have more upside. Another is Street Lark, who was ridden stone cold dead last start.
3. Nation State
2. Auxiliary
9. Lope De Lardo
4. Sugar Coat
Betting Strategy
Nation State was good when not suited versus pattern at Sandown last start, should lead and control the race here and gets back to the scene of latest victory at this track/distance on Cranbourne Cup day.
2. Hedged
4. Klabel
6. Charcoals
8. Daggers
Betting Strategy
BACK: 2. Hedged (WIN) for 2 units (Rated at $3.00)
Hedged will need a gap at the right time but looks completely airborne for the new stable and his only go on a firm deck last preparation he was on the heels of War Machine.
2. Morrissette
4. Brave Miss
1. Alma Rise
6. Jealous
Betting Strategy
Very tough race this year the Pinker Pinker, no real opinion.
13. Mawhera
1. Genrichero
3. Flashlight
6. Wondering Spirit
Betting Strategy
Mawhera is knocking on the door of a victory, goes on top but not my sort of race from a betting perspective.

CRANBOURNE RACING TIPS
Summary
Located approximately 50 kilometres south-east of Melbourne’s city centre, Cranbourne hosts 25 race meetings per year, predominantly on Friday nights and Sunday afternoons. Outside of the Cranbourne Cup, one of the club’s feature meetings is the tricode race night with harness, thoroughbred and greyhound races all on the same card. In total the fixture features 23 races, giving our cross-code team of tipsters the opportunity to come together and deliver their combined Cranbourne tips.
Key Events
The Cranbourne Cup is now a standalone meeting towards the back-end of the Spring Racing Carnival. The distance of the $500,000 Listed contest was reduced from 2025m to a mile in 2021. As well as the Cranbourne Cup, won by hometown hero King Magnus in 2021, the meeting also features the Apache Cat Classic, named in honour of multiple Group 1 winner Apache Cat (trained by Cranbourne horseman Greg Eurell). For premium Cranbourne tips on each and every meeting, head to the Betfair Hub.
Track Profile
Cranbourne Racecourse has a track circumference of 1,700m and a home straight of 300m. One unusual feature is that it has a very long chute – all starts from 1200m to 1600m are positioned within, and the 1000m start is located at the point where the chute meets the course proper. All horses have a long first straight in which to find their positions, before rounding the bend which brings them onto the home straight.
History
Cranbourne has a long history, with racing commencing way back in 1867 when a two-day meeting was held in April. In 2012 Cranbourne introduced floodlights, becoming the second racetrack in Victoria (after Moonee Valley) to host night racing. Wagering turnover on night racing has grown exponentially in that time, with Betfair’s team of tipsters providing Cranbourne best bets for each and every night fixture.
The club now also boasts the largest thoroughbred training facility in the southern hemisphere, with over 140 licenced trainers and more than 1,400 horses in training. In October 2014, a $4.9 million investment was made to construct on-course stables at Cranbourne, with the complex undergoing significant expansion following the closure of Caulfield’s stables.
