McAdam rated strong figures when winning at this track over 1523 metres on 31/1 and that gives him an edge here. That night he jumped well and found the lead, before kicking clear turning and comfortably holding them in the run to the line. From an inside draw he can find the same spot tonight and look to control the tempo.
BACK: 2. Dreams (WIN) (Rated at $2.90)
Dreams crossed from a wide barrier last start to find the lead and then raced away before the corner, when a dominant winner over this track and distance on 14/2. Her figures were strong for this class and I’d expect in-form Ethan Brown to try similar tactics tonight from the outside barrier.
BACK: 3. Merrigold (WIN) (Rated at $2.80)
Merrigold has been racing very consistently this preparation with 2 wins & 3 Seconds from 5 starts. After a close 2nd over this track and distance behind Takeko on 7/2 she went to Sandown on 19/2 and after settling just off the speed she was strong up the straight, without threatening the winner Pop Award. That was in stronger grade and she should appreciate the drop back to this level.
