BACK: 4. Kanan Stark (WIN) for 3 units (Rated at: $2)

Kanan Stark has made a hot start to his career having won seven of his 13 races. Since returning to the 520m at Cannington, he has recaptured his best form scoring two wins on the bounce. He showed great box manners to cross from box seven three days ago to lead and fend off the strong

West On Nugget in BON 29.68. There isn’t a great deal of speed inside him with the only dog capable of keeping him out Canya Mia.

Sand Patch steps back up to the 520m and will be shooting straight to the front; however, she will be vulnerable late.

Kanan Stark is rock hard fit, flying and strong late.

LAY: 1. Victory Road (WIN) for 2 units (Rated at: $7)

Victory Road makes the step up to the 600m in the hope he can jump to the lead and iron out his bad trait of running wide. It’s almost laughable how wide Victory Road has been running recently as he has literally scraped paint off the outside fence in his past few starts.

Box one on a bend start appears to be the absolute worst set up he could ask for and it just appears to be a trainwreck waiting to happen. Cannot get him anywhere near his opening price.

RACE 1 | SELECTIONS

1. Security Guard
3. Pingelly Prince
6. Nice Wicket
8. Canya Gulfstream

Betting Strategy

NO BET.

Moderate maiden with many of these looking to break through for the first time.

Security Guard run second from this draw five starts ago in 30.50. A repeat of this effort would have him going close.

Pingelly Prince has more upside than most. Yet to show it under race conditions.

Nice Wicket has handled tricky draws in the past and can do so once again.

RACE 2 | SELECTIONS

2. Uncle Tommy
8. Bunji Man
1. West On Boonie
3. Barbeque Man

Betting Strategy

NO BET.

Open free-for-all contest.

Uncle Tommy is arguably the most bombproof dog in this contest. He will make his own luck on speed and run an honest race.

Bunji Man is yet to win from box eight in five starts; however, has placed in three runs and owns a recent win from the seven. Racing consistently of late.

West On Boonie isn’t racing at his best currently; however, has won three of his four starts from the red.

Barbeque Man is returning from a long injury lay off. Not the worst and could surprise.

RACE 3 | SELECTIONS

6. Bo Cruz
2. Katchoo
4. Dandalup Opal
7. Sunset Mirage

Betting Strategy

NO BET.

Bo Cruz has been running serious time at Mandurah over the 488m. He has extreme early speed and will be looking to cross this field.

Katchoo hasn’t won in almost six months; however, ran second from the red box two starts ago in 29.95. That would be good enough to be in the finish.

Dandalup Opal brings the same formlines as Bo Cruz and owns a slick 29.83 personal best over this track and trip.

RACE 4 | SELECTIONS

4. Kanan Stark
5. Sand Patch
1. Canya Mia
6. Spider Venom

Kanan Stark is rock hard fit, flying and strong late.

RACE 5 | SELECTIONS

2. Tweak Freak
3. West On Gecko
1. Call Waiting
4. Andre Bale

Betting Strategy

NO BET.

Tweak Freak showed a clean pair of heels last start to lead in 5.41 and ultimately broke opposition rivals hearts winning by four lengths. A similar beginning would see her hard to run down.

West On Gecko returns to the 520m at Cannington after having success over the 488m at Mandurah. He should get a nice cart into the race and will finish off strongly.

Call Waiting won his lone start from box one and broke his WA duck at start no.3.

Andre Bale is another newcomer here and will be running home.

RACE 6 | SELECTIONS

2. Sunset Tyson
4. Sunset Frazier
3. Ghost Emoji
8. Sunset Nightjar

Betting Strategy

NO BET.

Cracking feature race. Sunset Tyson was beaten at the start by Sunset Frazier in their respective heat. He will be better for the run and would only need to be within stalking distance to get the better of his main rival.

Ghost Emoji is strong at the back end of 520m while Sunset Nightjar has the speed early to ignite from outside. Tricky race.

RACE 7 | SELECTIONS

2. Storm Alert
8. Argyle Queen
7. West On Muffin
1. Victory Road

Betting Strategy

RACE 8 | SELECTIONS

6. Canya Cracken
5. Sunset Lasso
1. Night Moon
2. Hard Maintenance

Betting Strategy

NO BET.

Canya Cracken was heavily supported last start when being rolled as an odds on favourite. The support indicates he isn’t too far from a win and he could be undervalued tonight off that defeat.

Sunset Lasso broke her maiden in good style and has since run a handful of nice placings. Just needs luck from the squeeze box.

Night Moon and Hard Maintenance will be kicking up trying to hold out the more fancied runners outside.

RACE 9 | SELECTIONS

2. Hurricane Taylor
8. Couch Surfer
1. Dusty Deluxe
6. Speed Freak

Betting Strategy

LAY: 1. Dusty Deluxe (WIN) for 2 units (Rated at: $4)

Admittedly, Dusty Deluxe beat home Couch Surfer fair and square last week; however, he is being overvalued in current betting. He started a $9.50 chance while Couch Surfer was $1.40. One win by a margin of 0.75L shouldn’t be enough to adjust his price from $9.50 to his $2.50 opening price.

There’s more pressure in this race with Hurricane Taylor likely to push outside and try to find the front. Add in a potential bout of second up syndrome, Dusty Deluxe appears severely overvalued.

RACE 10 | SELECTIONS

6. Savic
4. Chloe Ant
1. Stevie Monelli
8. Rhino Bale

Betting Strategy

BACK: 6. Savic (WIN) for 2 units (Rated at: $2.5)

Savic has caught the eye late in the piece in his past two runs over the 652m at Mandurah. He appears well suited stepping up to the 715m at Cannington and he was quite unlucky in his only start at this track when getting checked multiple times.

Acing Kuna to his outside is only a fair beginner and it’s important he can hold them out as he could potentially get a nice cart into this race by Chloe Ant, All About Coal and Stevie Monelli who are all stepping up to the 715m and will be tired late.

RACE 11 | SELECTIONS

2. Disco Trixie
7. Sunset Louie
4. Jami Keeping
1. Penny Magic

Betting Strategy

NO BET.

Disco Trixie steps back from free-for-all grade and appears well suited in fifth-grade where she’s won and placed in her past two.

Sunset Louie returns to the 715m. Won three starts ago in good time over this distance and is racing in career best form.

Jami Keeping and Penny Magic are yet to place over this distance in a combined three starts. They should make the speed but might be susceptible late.

RACE 12 | SELECTIONS

4. Care Factor
1. Drifter
5. Timon Lane
7. Girl Hill

Betting Strategy

NO BET.

Care Factor was stiff last week (pocket talk) when flashing home late over the 600m. Should only improve with that run under the belt.

Drifter took out that affair and will be looking to go back to back.

Timon Lane is lightly raced and steps up sharply to the 600m. Great training methodology and it’s not used enough with slow beginners.
