EXPERT GREYHOUND TIPS: ALBION PARK

ALBION PARK PREVIEW AND TIPS | EXPERT TIPS | THURSDAY APRIL 17TH 2025

Albion Park is set to host a 9 race program on Thursday evening with the first to commence at 6:42PM local time. The meeting is headlined by the 2025 Eric Thomson Memorial featuring the likes of Hara’s Kitana, Miles On It and Jay Walking.

Jaycin Campbell

BACK: 3. Stowaway (WIN) for 3 units (Rated at $2.00)

Stowaway rose to the 600m last start where he turned in an eye-catching performance finishing just a length off the favourite Canya Cash In. He will strip fitter off that effort and is far better suited by the box draw this week. The key here is he doesn’t have the box manners to match the runners drawn around him which is a huge positive. He will hunt back to the inside while Canya Cash In will look to hook wide on the first turn. As long as he gets within three to four lengths of the leader passing the post the first time, he should prove too strong.

BACK: 2. Loving Angel (WIN) for 3 units (Rated at $2.00)

Loving Angel broke her maiden status two starts ago over the 520m at Ipswich in good time. She was only five days in-between runs to her first Albion Park start where she raced greenly from a wide draw. Expect her to take great benefit from that run. If she can hold out Summer’s Edition early this race is all over. If not, she’ll just need to avoid trouble and she’ll run home better than anything.

6. Trapper Tears
4. Villante
2. Bear’s Bullet
1. Travis’s Scrub

Betting Strategy

LAY: 1. Travis’s Scrub (SCR)

Travis’s Scrub found the arm with ease last start at Rockhampton and was run down easily by Duffman and co. Admittedly, she will strip fitter for that effort; however, the small field is not to her liking as the stronger types such as Trapper Tears and Villante don’t have many obstacles to overcome. Should get the stitch late.

2. Cheers For Bella
4. Akela Iaido
8. Hara’s Harper
7. Akela Martial

Betting Strategy

Cheers For Bella should zoom through and find the front. She brings the strongest formline and can improve off last week’s effort where she was overhauled late. Not diving into odds on in these staying events.

3. Stowaway
6. Ace’s Chance
1. Canya Cash In
4. Plum Tuckered

4. Proper Star
8. Jay Walking
7. Miles On It
2. Hara’s Kitana

Betting Strategy

I’m team Proper Star in the Eric Thomson memorial. She was outstanding last week running just two lengths off Jay Walking breaking 30 seconds on debut. Not only that, she began so sweetly off what is a difficult box to do so. Drawn underneath her main dangers tonight, she could very well find the front and take catching.

7. My Holiday Fund
1. Aussie Sands
8. Sleek Charm
2. Easy Beat

Betting Strategy

BACK: 7. My Holiday Fund (WIN) for 2 units (Rated at $3.00)

There’s a lack of speed in this contest which leads me to My Holiday Fund. Prior to his run at The Q, he led both his starts over the 431m at Ipswich with sizzling first splits. He should lead this race for fun. The only threat late will be Aussie Sands. Happy to play the leader at the prices.

1. Hooked On Kisses
3. Moet Magic
5. Modelo
8. Zipping Rove

Betting Strategy

This is as deep a fifth-grade race as you’ll see. I’ve got plenty of time for both Moet Magic and Modelo. The pair are going to make ripping 600m bitches moving forward. All the same, I’m siding with Hooked On Kisses. If she can press up and get into second position, she can out sprint Moet Magic like she did winning here last start. The only concern is, “where has she been for the last 2 months”?

3. Affluent
2. Brunswick Flyer
7. Ruin Art
6. Brunswick Rocket

Betting Strategy

Not a race I want to delve too deep. Affluent on top purely off the fact that Brunswick Flyer will spot him a large start and require plenty of luck during running. Pass.

4. Flaming Galah
7. Shian Quirky
2. Orson Apatite
1. Jewel Bee

Betting Strategy

Flaming Galah is building his fitness levels and should improve once again. However, there’s a lot of speed set to rush across him from the likes of Shian Quirky which makes this map look messy.
