Track: Albion Park
Track Record: Dyna Double One – 29.51 (25/06/2015)
Race 4 - 520m
7. Maurice Minor
He can be a frustrating dog to follow at times but he has a huge motor when he gets galloping room and the wide draw here might be of some benefit. Trouper Monelli shouldn’t bother him early so hopefully he can get into a winning position early.
5. Mepunga Blazer
He looked back to his best at Sandown Park recently where he ran a sizzling 29.38. However, in that race he had the benefit of an inside draw. He has a tough draw here and for a dog that’s had several injuries and time off the scene, I am willing to go against him.
Race 5 - 520m
3. Dual Keroma
He has been airborne in recent Victorian runs and if he can take that form to this track then he will take a power of beating. He is the sort of dog who will run through a brick wall and a draw close to the rails is suitable.
6. Hasten Slowly
In several races where he has had a wide draw he has fence crashed hard, so Box 6 looks poor for him here. I do find him hard to catch and his two runs here have been super but were from much more suitable draws.
Race 6 - 520m
1. Not Available
I am going with the short price favourite here. He does look the winner and has a fantastic record off inside draws. He has also had the benefit of two runs at the track and I am expecting him to be well out in front mid race and hold on to win.
8. Jury
He is only second up here off a decent spell which just isn’t good enough form going into a race with other Dogs flying and fully fit. I can’t see him crossing cleanly from the wide draw and may burn too many petrol tickets early.
Race 7 - 520m
2. Benali
In what looks a tricky race I am happy to have something small on this chaser even though he drops back in distance. His racing pattern utilises sizzling early sectionals so I am not concerned as he loves to be out in front. The inside draw helps too.
7. Nations
This well-travelled chaser has been racing well of late but in much easier races. He is a brute of a dog who takes a while to wind up and I just can’t see him getting the room he needs from the wide draw.
Race 8 - 520m
3. Hecton Bale
Reluctantly laying here because the short odds are too good to pass up. He tends to want to race around other chasers, rather than underneath them so Box 3 is no help to him and he could get shuffled back early. If he lands behind the leader though we will be sweating.
