Found this race quite open and was surprised to see favourite ROTHESAY’S RUBY floating around that even money price. While she is the runner who probably most looks suited in this grade dropping down a level now. I feel she has some stiff competition from the likes of SPIELE & VENOM WOLF. So do think ROTHESAY’S RUBY is a winning chance, but happy to risk her at anything close to even money.

WHITSUNDAY SESSION debuts for a new stable here today and coming into the race fresh should suit as she has previously performed well in previous 1st up runs. She is ever consistent having not missed the top 3 in her 6 career runs and she appears to get the right race map, feel that she should be at the business end of this race.

Looks quite and open maiden race to kick off. BARCELONA EXPRESS’ best form rates well and he is drawn to feature in the run while MONTE OUTLANDER likely will be much better suited in this grade 2nd up. Tough enough race to be confident betting into.

COUNTERPART kicks off for a stable here today and this is arguably the easiest maiden he has competed in through his career so far. So could be a big beneficiary of the easier level of race here and the set up looks as if it should suit so happy to have a small play at him here.

Found this maiden another tricky one to want to get involved in from a betting perspective. HOWZAT HARRY may be suited to the potentially slightly easier maiden race, but also does maybe need to find his best here. Then the runners like RISK FOR REWARD gets to push forwards and may get the soft run. It’s an open race and not hugely appealing for a bet.

He looks as if he gets the right set up here and is the one to beat, but his price isn’t hugely appealing to get involved in. Not keen to lay him for the sake of it so prefer to just sit this race out.

Very open race and tough to have a firm enough opinion to want to have a bet. MATTER OF HONOUR is resuming off a winning trial and has previously won 1st up into the prep. But he does have some queries about the race map that isn’t ideal. Tough race to have huge confidence.

This is another very open betting race but I can make a cause to have a small play at VEECEE who drops in grade and looks as if he may have found his right level of race here to be able to break through in. He is very tough to catch but 2 starts back in a similar grade to this he looked good. If he can replicate a similar effort to that run, it should see him go close.
