BACK: 2. Home Rule (WIN) for 2 unit(s) (Rated at: $3.6)

Home Rule is the best bet of the day at the price for me. He won this race last year on a heavy deck and he has obviously been targeted at this race again. He was left in front a long way from home at Terang last start, maps to sit outside Epic Centre here and should look the winner at some stage up the straight.

WARRNAMBOOL DAY 3 PREVIEW | THURSDAY THE 2ND

RAIL: N/A | TRACK: Soft 7

Doing this write-up on Wednesday night and there still isn’t any word on the rail movement. Regardless, the rail in the straight can’t be moved so I still think the inside should be a strong advantage unless they irrigate.

RACE 1 | SELECTIONS

7. Affluential
9. Custom Of The Sea
4. Jekyll’n’hyde
8. Huntly Castle

Betting Strategy

NO BET.

Tricky start, Affluential beat Dubai Moon at Pakenham two back over the hurdles before a win on the flat at Cranbourne less than a week ago.

RACE 2 | SELECTIONS

6. Our Sassy Lady
4. Mean Feat
5. Riverina Power
7. Raymond’s Reward

Betting Strategy

NO BET.

Our Sassy Lady sat on-speed and won nicely on debut at Sandown in good time. I don’t like the jockey switch for this horse and the pattern of the carnival but she is clearly the most likely winner of this race.

RACE 3 | SELECTIONS

2. Home Rule
6. Extreme Flight
8. Stripped Back
4. Wolflands

Betting Strategy

BACK: 2. Home Rule (WIN) for 2 unit(s) (Rated at: $3.6)

Home Rule is the best bet of the day at the price for me. He won this race last year on a heavy deck and he has obviously been targeted at this race again. RACE 4 | SELECTIONS

8. Bellini Miss
3. Miss Galore
1. Precious Charm
5. Mawkeb

Betting Strategy

BACK: 8. Bellini Miss (WIN) for 1 unit(s) (Rated at: $11)

Bellini Miss was out the back and ran home good closing splits late. I’m hoping she settles closer and her run two back with a big weight at Ballarat was full of merit.

RACE 5 | SELECTIONS

1. Dashing Duchess
12. Morrissette
2. Gottabesavvy
4. Whakamana

Betting Strategy

NO BET.

A lottery. Damian Lane thought enough of Dashing Duchess to hang around all afternoon at Ballarat on a Sunday to ride her in the last after having a couple of rides earlier in the meeting. She won well against an in-form Hasseltoff, a 67-day spell with no public work is an indication that the horse is going well.

RACE 6 | SELECTIONS

5. Goldenstatewarrior
11. The Creator
9. Unseen Ruler
7. North Channel

Betting Strategy

NO BET.

No idea what the market will do with Goldenstatewarrior, who started hard in the market in a better race than this first-up off 231-days. He produced strong closing splits, up 100m in distance suits. The Creator has a strong rating winning at Pakenham two back on rain affected ground.

RACE 7 | SELECTIONS

3. Bell Ex One
10. Budd Fox
2. Rockstar Ronnie
8. Instigator

Betting Strategy

NO BET.

No idea! Bell Ex One was good on the flat last start, Rockstar Ronnie won the race last year and I assume it was a 364-day plan to get him back here.

RACE 8 | SELECTIONS

12. Belle Et Riche
10. Brung King
9. Green Fly
5. So Risque

Betting Strategy

NO BET.

One of the hardest races over the carnival for me.

RACE 9 | SELECTIONS

11. Think N Fly
4. Little Mix
9. Fengarada
7. Rolls

Betting Strategy

NO BET.

A deep Warrnambool Cup, I could make cases for 10 horses and still miss the winner.

RACE 10 | SELECTIONS

13. Rose Of Shalaa
4. Skiing
10. Rackemann
9. Spare Coin

Betting Strategy

NO BET.

Not much between the top few in the market.
