LEOPARDSDOWN PREVIEW AND TIPS | EXPERT TIPS | SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 13TH 2025
  TRACK: Soft
Could be an interesting setup if the rain sets in and they shred the rail. I’m banking on this happening and favouring wet track swoopers later in the card
3. Diamond Necklace
4. Inbox
5. Kensington Lane
2. Caught U Sleeping
Betting Strategy
BACK: 3. Diamond Necklace (WIN) for 5 units (Rated at $1.50)
Diamond Necklace is an expensive purchase who lived up to the billing on debut and looks impossible to oppose from the good gate. She wins with clear running.
2. Dance Night Andday
9. Chicago Fireball
5. Gleneagle Bay
3. Dunum
Betting Strategy
Lots of horses here who don’t like the track except for Dance Night Andday but can’t get excited as he hates the wet
4. Montréal
2. Bienvenuto Cellini
3. Hardy Warrior
1. A Boy Named Susie
Betting Strategy
BACK: 4. Montreal (WIN) for 4 units (Rated at $2.00)
Thought Montreal would be clear favourite and surprised he isn’t so attacking the price as a result. Given an educational ride on debut not asked for too much behind Hardy Warrior who led for fun on a leader’s track. Sent forward next time and galloped relentless for an 8L maiden success. Just needs to control things on his terms here and he’s the likeliest winner.
1. Al Aasy
8. Convergent
3. Trustyourinstinct
2. Sons and Lovers
Betting Strategy
BACK: 1. Al Aasy (WIN) for 4 units (Rated at $2.00)
I’m hopeful the rail will have chopped up enough for Al Aasy to tank into the race down the outside. A nice even/strong gallop on the front end from Convergent should suit and he’s a machine at G3 level with 9 of his career successes coming in this grade.
9. Cercene
2. Fallen Angel
5. Vera’s Secret
11. January
Betting Strategy
BACK: 9. Cercene (WIN) for 2 units (Rated at $3.50)
Cercene ran a cracker behind Whirl at Goodwood staying on strongly after that filly got gifted the race from the flag start. The start prior she nabbed the Coronation at Ascot and returns to that distance, mapping perfectly.
9. Scorthy Champ
1. Chicago Critic
2. Johan
5. Skukuza
Betting Strategy
BACK: 9. Scorthy Champ (WIN) for 1 unit (Rated at $5.00)
Giving Scorthy Champ one last shot at redemption here. He’s not a 2000m horse and connections have been finding out the hard way. I wouldn’t even think he’s a miler and best suited to 1400m but he comes into this fresh, having won well here on debut last year from a similar gate.
8. Zahrann
4. White Birch
5. Delacroix
1. Anmaat
Betting Strategy
BACK: 8. Zahrann (WIN) for 2 units (Rated at $4.00)
Been so impressed by Zahrann since day one and he’s looked to have an extremely sharp turn of foot even when stepping back down to 2000m. He’s had a run here and handled the dead zone on the bend perfectly, tanking into the race and cutting the field down from last. Coolmore might have their hands full on the front end maintaining the gallop or trying to stack them up and I actually think he’s better suited to a slower tempo than a brutal gallop. He goes on top.
BACK: 4. White Birch (WIN) for 2 units (Rated at $3.75)
I’ve gone back over the replays and White Birch was horrendously unlucky last time when steered into a traffic jam, and then another. The ground wasn’t in his favour either so to have that much horse go to the line untested bodes well for this where he’s 4 from 5 with juice in the ground and question marks over the others in the field and their ability to handle it. ANMAAT is normally one I follow strongly but loses Jim Crowley and I’m not sure Chris Hayes can get the same tune from him.
17. Light As Air
11. Happy Pharaoh
2. London City
1. Harbour Wind
Betting Strategy
BACK: 17. Light As Air (WIN) for 2 units (Rated at $4.00)
Light As Air is well named here coming in off the bottom weight. Should roll forward and be very tricky to catch with the apprentice taking off another 5lb which gives him a huge edge against the older types. Bumped into a G1-placed horse here in March and has been looking for soft ground since.
BACK: 11. Happy Pharaoh (WIN) for 1 unit (Rated at $8.00)
Happy Pharaoh is 2 from 2 over this track and trip and ran another slashing placing over further in the Vinnie Roe in Listed grade at set weights. Back into a handicap with a slick apprentice he’s a threat at a big price.
13. Proxima Centauri
18. Shavasi
16. Um Wadi
6. Onemoredance
Betting Strategy
Wide open
DONCASTER PREVIEW | SATURDAY SEPETEMBER 13 2025
  TRACK: Soft
Still largely favouring those up on speed. Can’t be too far back if you want to have a say in the finish.
7. Treble Tee
3. Galeron
4. Hawksbill
14. Point Of Contact
Betting Strategy
Nothing here, wide open.
2. Cape Orator
3. Gewan
4. Oxagon
5. Puerto Rico
Betting Strategy
LAY: 3. Gewan for 3 units (Rated at $3.50)
Laying both the short favourites here as I think the race could potentially descend into a sit and sprint it suits neither the likely leader nor Gewan who changed hands for big money recently after won at York with plenty of assistance (fave overraced, runner up too far back without cover)
LAY: 4. Oxagon (WIN) for 3 units (Rated at $3.50)
Oxagon won his maiden by 8L on a total leader’s paradise. Very hard to justify that price here when nothing made ground that day and he’s got competition for the lead here.
5. Trefor
22. Eternal Sunshine
15. Rhythm n Hooves
2. Diablo Rojo
Betting Strategy
BACK: 5. Trefor (WIN) for 2 units (Rated at $5.00)
Trefor is in brilliant form and was unlucky not to be on a 5-win streak. He saw out the race strongly at the Ebor festival and looks to be drawn ideally here and still operates on a fair handicap mark.
10. Shadow Of Light
1. Audience
6. Ten Bob Tony
3. Kings Gamble
Betting Strategy
BACK: 10. Shadow Of Light for 5 units (Rated at $1.60)
Shadow Of Light should be miles too good for this field and will get a pace to cart him into the race. He steps down in grade having contested G1’s at his last 5 starts and was only beaten half a length last time in France. He is the class horse and should stamp that here.
1. Carmers
5. Scandinavia
2. Furthur
6. Stay True
Betting Strategy
BACK: 1. Carmers (WIN) for 3 units (Rated at $3.00)
Felt like Carmers has flown under the radar a shade since Ascot. He’s been set aside for this after smashing the track record (and Scandinavia along with it) and tuned up nicely with a luckless 2nd in the Voltigeur when his momentum was interrupted. He’s going to relish stepping back up in trip and his price should be shorter.
BACK: 5. Scandinavia (WIN) for 2 units (Rated at $2.50)
Not losing here on the Goodwood Cup winner who has been a revelation since tweaking with his headgear. He gets a duo of stablemates to assist him turning the tables on Carmers and Lambourn should set the clip for him to aim at.
1. Del Maro
5. Nova Centauri
4. Mr Wonka
2. Merci Monsieur
Betting Strategy
Too many mixed bags. Not for me.
