Kerdos steps down in grade from the G1 King Charles where he was the only runner to finish in the top 8 drawn single digits. Back to a fairer setup, fully fit 3rd-up this is ripe for the taking.

BACK: 9. Adrestia (WIN) for 2 units (Rated at $3.50)

Fresh of being a handicap blot she chases black type here. Crucially has winning course form and that should give her an edge as she tackles a few of the boys and older horses who have extra baggage penalties for pattern successes earlier in the year.

BACK: 8. Treasure Time (WIN) for 3 units (Rated at $3.00)

Treasure Time might just be the finished article now fully furnished at 4. Every run last season was a belter and the stable sends out plenty of fresh handicap winners so fitness won’t be an excuse. The 3lb might be enough of an edge to hold off Greek Order.

Half sister to G1 winner Coroebus who did it the hard way from the front last time. I think there’s big improvement to come over further distance and she’s still immature having missed 2yo season but she has group class ability.

BACK: 7. Supermodel (WIN) for 1 unit (Rated at $5.00)

Haggas has won this race three times in the last six seasons and sends out an improving type here who made light work of her seasonal reappearance. Should be a bit of speed on and is the one likely to get over the top of them if they go hard with multiple leader types engaged.

BACK: 4. Delacroix (WIN) for 3 units (Rated at $3.50)

I’m not sacking Delacroix just yet after the negative ride in the Derby butchered his chances. He got clobbered twice and shuffled back for the first 7 furlongs before having an interrupted passage in the straight to boot. Despite all that trouble he recorded one supreme sectional from the bend before Moore waved the white flag and looked after him and he comes to a totally different ball game down to 2000m where he’s unbeaten and can lead on his own terms. 3yos have a fine record in this race with the 5.5kg WFA allowance, and stacking them up on the corner after Ombudsman comes out of a breakneck pace race might be the difference.

BACK: 6. Ruling Court (WIN) for 1 unit (Rated at $5.00)

Ruling Court relished this track on debut and found more the further he went uphill. A solid 2000 Guineas winner, it all went up in smoke when they aimed him at the Derby. Scratching him due to the wet track, he was all set up for stamina and thus got blown up in the St James’s Palace when ready-made milers had too much toe. He did his best work at the end of the SJP so back up to a mile and a quarter he’s ready to rock and roll with the 3yo allowance.

The draw here should let Antelope sit in behind the leader and that could be key with his main rivals sitting out the back. Consistent and progressive, should be in the thick of the action at the line getting weight off key rivals.

BACK: 3. Patrol (WIN) for 1 unit (Rated at $7.00)

Patrol has the chance to go one better than a fortnight ago with the jockey upgrade having been given a bum steer at Newmarket. Made plenty of headway for 2nd showed he can run on turf after all as long as there’s something to aim at.

Really ordinary renewal, can only get excited about Best Adventure and that is only if Antelope goes close or wins the previous race. 51.5kgs here is a featherweight and he comfortably beat him here last time.
