BACK (WIN) #7 Ruby and Rice for 3 units

RUBY AND RICE (7) appears to get the time and space required to swoosh across this field. Should prove too speedy for the main danger DARRYL’S CHOICE (2).

RACE 1

BUCKLE UP SHAVI (6) heads into this race on the fresh side. The last time he had a gap in-between his runs he saluted in 16.19 over this track and trip. Has the right form around Kranji and Perseverance.

LITTLE ZOOM (1) has found her feet in Tasmania winning two of her last three starts. Won from this box three starts ago in 16.49 over track and trip. Major player.

GETAWAY CAR (5) showed a nice turn of speed two starts ago before being checked. Followed this effort by running second to Buckle Up Amanda by a nose over track and trip.

Monitor market moves on the first starters BUCKLE UP FARIDA (2) and BUCKLE UP WYSTAN (4).

Betting Strategy

BACK (PLACE) #6 Buckle Up Shavi for 1 unit

Open race to kick off the program with two unknowns as well as three winning chances. Siding with BUCKLE UP SHAVI (6) to race well fresh once again.

RACE 2

BUCKLE UP ZOYA (1) has been racing well in much harder company. She has finished in the top three at her past five starts behind the likes of Sweet Sundown and Vintage Class. Has run second in all her three starts from box one. Can go one better here.

SPEEDY COMET (3) appears progressive. She has bettered her time in every start and is coming off a career best 26.45 over the 461m at Hobart where she finished fourth behind Fly High Bet. Having her first go at Launceston; however, more than capable in this field.

CHASING LADY (2) improved last start, running third in 16.54 behind Buckle Up Wilton over track and trip. Drawn low once again and can finish on the podium.

Betting Strategy

BACK (PLACE) #3 Speedy Comet for 1 unit

I can’t dive into “Winx like” odds for BUCKLE UP ZOYA (1) even though she’s the on top selection. SPEEDY COMET (3) will only need to bring her Hobart form to Launceston to finish in the placings.

RACE 3

MY GIRL TENIKA (2) was brilliant last start leading the whole way to score by four lengths in 26.28 over the 461m at Hobart. Bumped into Black Dream at her Launceston debut and can be forgiven. Will be savaging the line.

BRIDWOOD JACK (1) ran third on debut over track and trip in 16.42. Drawn the prime position and could lead the whole way.

STARLIGHT BLUE (5) has run second at four of her last five starts. She’s consistent; however, doesn’t have a winners mindset. Placing.

Betting Strategy

BACK (WIN) #2 My Girl Tenika for 1 unit

MY GIRL TENIKA (2) will only need to begin on terms to find a lovely trail behind BRIDWOOD JACK (1) and prove hard to hold out over the concluding stages.

RACE 4

VINTAGE DUCHESS (3) broke her duck last start winning over this track and trip in 30.30. Draws the same box and will only need to replicate this effort to contest the finish.

I’VE GOT SPARK (7) has won two races over the 278m at Launceston. She is having her first start over the 515m and is drawn where she wants to be. Has the early speed to contest the lead. Last 100m is the query.

VINTAGE DOT (6) is yet to break her maiden; however, this race is extremely shallow and she ran third beaten four lengths by the favourite VINTAGE DUCHESS (3).

Betting Strategy

BACK (PLACE) #6 Vintage Dot for1 unit

A touch more early pressure in this race with a handful of dogs stepping up to the 515m might result in VINTAGE DUCHESS (3) not finding an uncontested lead like she did last week. Siding with the run on dog VINTAGE DOT (6) to savage the line.

RACE 5

Small field assembled for a rare middle distance race. BLACK DANGER (1) has won over this track and trip in 35.06. He is a three-time winner from box one and should be too classy for his rivals.

ZIPPING FOXY (6) scored her first Tasmanian win last Thursday over the 461m at Hobart in 26.11. She has the speed to lead this field; however, will be all out in the finish.

COPPER MOUNTAIN (2) and HOT DANGER (4) will fight out third place.

Betting Strategy

BACK (WIN) #1 Black Danger for 3 units

BLACK DANGER (1) will only need to be within a couple of lengths from ZIPPING FOXY (6) to get the better of her in the finish.

RACE 6

THOR DANGER (7) is racing in fine order. He has finished in the top three at his past five starts including defeating Flying Alonso two starts back over the 461m at Hobart. He has only managed one win over this track and trip; however, has placed on ten occasions. Fraught with danger backing him to win but he should place.

SPOTTED BULL (1) broke through for a much deserved win last start over this track and trip. Now jumps from the cherry and should be in the finish.

BUCKLE UP BAHATI (2) saw good market support last start when finished third over this track and trip. Is a two-time winner out of box two and can figure in the finish.

Betting Strategy

BACK (PLACE) #7 Thor Danger for 2 units

THOR DANGER (7) is racing in fine form. He only wins by small margins and often chases the leader. We’ll play him on the place line as it could be a head bobbing finish.

RACE 7

NAIL’ EM FENCER (4) is coming off a good week where he recorded two effortless wins. He faces a similar field to what he did last Monday and should have the speed to kick through to the front. Small query on this being his third start in seven days.

BUCKLE UP ARIA (5) was pegging back NAIL’ EM FENCER (4) last start only going down by half a length. She could get the better of him in the finish tonight if she lobs close enough on the first turn.

BUCKLE UP ELISE (8) will be better for the run last start as she was a fortnight between runs rising in distance. Her record suggests she’s more than capable of racing well from wide boxes.

Betting Strategy

BACK (PLACE) #5 Buckle Up Aria for 3 units

Leaning towards BUCKLE UP ARIA (5) from a betting perspective due to her potentially being more fitter tonight while NAIL ‘EM FENCER (4) might race a touch flat.

RACE 8

MIGHTY FLIRT (7) was heavily supported last start where she finished second behind Blackpool Aries over the 340m at Hobart. Steps up steeply in distance which should allow her to contest the lead. Will have to lead to have any chance; however, there’s not much speed drawn inside her.

AKUNA STREET (6) is the best dog in this race and her effort last week was forgivable. Despite this, given her tendencies to chase other dogs she should never be touched from a betting perspective at even money.

SILENT KEIKO (8) often fires out; however, has recently dropped well back through the field. Might be worth a try over the 278m.

Betting Strategy

BACK (WIN) #7 Mighty Flirt for 1 unit

MIGHTY FLIRT (7) saw good market support last start indicating a win isn’t far away. The step up to the 515m should help her race more forward and if she can lead this race she will take catching.

RACE 9

Fireworks early in this contest. PETERINA (3) has been stepping well recently and led comfortably last Thursday over the 340m at Hobart. Hasn’t won in nine starts at Hobart yet has won five from 11 at Launceston. Will enjoy returning to her favourite track.

MISS EVEREST (5) is racing in a rich vein of form, recording wins at three of her last five starts all over this track and trip. Capable of a fast beginning and will be pushing forward.

PANEL DAMAGE (7) has endured a three week absence and could explode here on the fresh side.

MOVE YOUR FEET (4) has the early speed to be a threat in any race she contests. Good to see her back at Launceston where she enjoys racing the most.

Betting Strategy

BACK (WIN) #3 Peterina for 1 unit

Open race with plenty of early speed engaged. Siding with PETERINA (3) who has been nailing the start of late and has drawn inside all of her main dangers.

RACE 10

RUBY AND RICE (7) returned off a one month break with a dazzling win over the 340m at Hobart running just a tick outside the track record. She has won three of her four starts over this track and trip. Will only need to begin on terms to win this event.

DARRYL’S CHOICE (2) broke her Hobart duck last start with a powerful win over the 340m. Like her back at Launceston; however, prefer her over the 515m.

HOTSHOT HOLLY (1) placed from this box three starts ago over track and trip. Capable of coming off the speed and running home. One for exotics players.

Betting Strategy

BACK (WIN) #7 Ruby and Rice for 3 units

RUBY AND RICE (7) appears to get the time and space required to swoosh across this field. Should prove too speedy for the main danger DARRYL’S CHOICE (2).
