Was a solid 5th in the Ranvet Stakes then a close 6th in the Tancred. Topweight and wide draw make it tough but is a strong player.

2. Mahrajaan – 2 starts over 2 miles for 2 wins in an Auckland Cup last start, and a NZ Cup. Big weight and wige gate but capable of winning.

3. Ashrun – 2nd in the Geelong Cup then 4th in the Melbourne Cup last prep. Won the Pakenham Cup comfortably before a sound 3rd in the Tancred. Right in this.

6. Selino – Won this race in 2021 and won the Brisbane Cup over 2 miles last year. Doesn’t get warm until gets to this trip.

7. Kalapour – Won the Hotham last prep and won the Tancred this prep. Profiles solidly.

8. Serpentine – Hus dug deep to win his past two 2000m starts, with his last 200m his best. Is some query whether he gets 3200m but he is going very well.

10. Athabascan – Was a close 2nd in the Hotham last prep, and only 1.6L from them in the Tancred last start. In the mix.

11. Manzoice – VRC Derby winner who was hopelessly out of form for a long time but appears to have found it again this prep. 4yos haven’t won this race in the past 12 years.

12. Circle Of Fire – Won the Chaiman’s last start which historically has been the best lead up for this race. However it was a very weak edition, has drawn wide, and last start winner and 4yos have a poor record in this race.

13. Glentaneous – Was impressive winning the Bagot but was plain last start. Had a long prep.
