BACK: 1. Canidae (WIN) for 2 units
Canidae is a 9 year old gelding still racing in great heart. Was excellent at metro level two back before charging home from the tail for a close up 4th at Strathalbyn over the 1350m. The extra trip suits here. Draws poorly but goes back anyway and should be charging home over the top of them late. Has won 6 races at Bordertown.
Chilko Lake was OK last start working through the post late at Strathalbyn. Hasn’t been at his best this prep but last start was much better over an unsuitable trip. Steps up 200m in distance and gets in well with the claim for Caitlin Tootell.
Lines Of Glory is racing very consistently this time in. Always starts hard in the market and always performs well. The drop back in trip is a query but hard to knock recent form. Our Ellie Rose is the best of the rest and boasts a pretty good record at this track. Gets in light at the weights and distance rise helps.

BACK: 5. Opportune Chance (WIN & PLACE) for 2 units
Pretty honest MDN here but thought Opportune Chance could finally breakthrough at start no.11 here. Was luckless in running last start at Strathalbyn when bolting for a run that never eventuated. Was solid for 2.5L 6th but should have won. Returns from a spell and looked good winning a recent trial. Gets in well with the 3kg claim for Brooke King.

$51 to $26 last start and the specking was pretty accurate. Settled back in the 2nd half of the field and ran through the line really well for 1.6L 4th over the 1600m trip. Will be looking for this 1800m trip now and is another that is well placed with the 4kg claim for Sophie Mitchell. The horse looks like he has returned to his best form we know he’s capable of.
