GOLDEN EAGLE SPEED MAP

Expecting decent speed here with Pericles, Golden Mile, Hawaii Five Oh, Rediener and New Endeavour all able to take handy positions.

Communist, Attrition, Coin Toss, Obamburumai, Age Of Kings & Galeron can all race forward of midfield.

Amelia’s Jewel, Osipenko, Strait Acer, Ruthless Dame, Vienna Princess all back of midfield.

Razeta, Knights Choice, Kovalica & Legarto out the back.

GOLDEN EAGLE KEY RUNNERS

1. Hawaii Five Oh – Multiple G3 winner who ran 3rd in The Stradbroke as a 3yo. 2nd beaten a nose to Think About In in the Premiere then a big run for 6th in The Everest beaten 2.4 after racing back and wide throughout on a day where on speed and fence was favoured. Flying, drawn well, Nash on board and rates very highly.

5. Kovalica – G1 Derby winner who ran 2nd beaten a nose in the Epsom Handicap then charged home for 5th in the King Charles running the quickest late sectionals of the race. Drawn wide but ticks all of the other boxes for a winner of this race.

7. Osipenko – Has a strong resume with G1 placings in the Caulfield Guineas and Makybe Diva Stakes. Drawn nicely to give this a big shake.

12. Obamburumai – Japanese colt having first run in Australia. 5 starts for 3 wins and a placing. G2 and G3 winner and G1 placed over a mile. First run for 5 months here.

14. Age Of Kings – G3 placegetter at Ascot and Leopardstown. First up for C Waller. C Williams seems a very positive booking. However, has had two trials and hasn’t done enough in those to back here.

15. Galeron – G3 placegetter at Goodwood. Doesn’t appear good enough for this.

16. Amelia’s Jewel – G1 Kingston Town winner in Perth. 2nd beaten a nose in The Quokka. Won two G2 mare’s races comfortably this prep before a flop in the Toorak Handicap due to a virus. Can bounce back here.

18. Legarto – Multiple G1 winner including the Australian Guineas at last Aus run. Won last start in New Zealand. Can certainly measure up here.
