BACK: 4. Cash (WIN) for 2 units

Cash is a $1.1 million dollar purchase who hopped the border for the debut run at Moonee Valley and was much too talented for them. Given plenty of time to mature and was scratched last Saturday in preference for this. Michael Hickmott will have placed this big price purchase with care. Surely ready to show up fresh. Riche Damour is racing well an starting ti show signs of that early promise. Heavily backed last start and that proved correct powering home from well back to score at this track. Extra furlong suits and the wide open spaces of Murray Bridge help. Solar Blast didn’t come on at Gawler but was potentially in the quicksand lanes. Forgive that and gets back to a fairer surface here. Draws well. Sign From Above was another that raced wide and struggled with the poor Gawler surface. Fitter for two runs back and draws a gate.

3. Show Runner
1. All So Clear
4. Bolt By
6. Aitch Damico

Betting Strategy

Show Runner ran a cracking 2nd to Stirrup Cup two back then can be forgiven for a wide run in transit and was no match for Sav On Ice which looks destined for big things. Draws well here and isn’t running into world beaters today! Can bounce back. Always respect the Hayes lads when they bring one across and they have so with the in-form All So Clear. Has been doing very well at the synthetic races of late. Drops back in distance and gets back to soft conditions but does have a good record with the sting out. Like the booking of Toeroek. They always underestimate Bolt By but he always bobs up at big odds as he did at this track/distance last start. Steps up to City grade but it is a no metro win race and drops nicely in weight. Sure to be right in the finish. Aitch Damico is racing below his best this prep but has been rubbing shoulders with some better horses. This looks easier and best is certainly good enough to be competitive.

7. Tyga Taste
5. Tassoro
4. Now East
12. Mondello

Betting Strategy

No bet race but an interesting affair. Tyga Taste is on debut here for the Michael Hickmott stable and he generally has his juveniles ready to fly fresh. This horse was never let g under any riding in a recent trial with Todd Pannell aboard and was very strong through the line. Good signs that Pannell sticks here. The stablemate Tassoro is another that is debuting here for Hickmott and looked good winning a recent trial. He draws to do no work from barrier 1 here. Now East was excellent two back vs the red hot From The Block at Gawler only being 0.9L at the finish. Then led and was a sitting shot in the straight in trying conditions at Gawler last start. Forgive that and previous form brings him into things. Has race fitness on his side. Mondello was excellent for a close up 4th fresh over the 1000m. Will be fitter for that and appreciate the extra furlong. Working towards a win.

8. Obi
4. Swycho
5. Maxildo
1. Merchant Boss

Betting Strategy

BACK: 8. Obi (WIN & PLACE) for 1 unit

Thought Obi represented some good each-way value here. Was a stylish winner two back due to a 11/10 ride from Ciatlin Jones then tackled town and didn’t have the greatest of times in the straight. Forgive that and has been given a nice 6 week freshen for this. The horse has a great record at this distance and drops 1.5kg in weight. Should go close at a nice price. Swycho is the best horse in the race and and be forgiven for a close up 5th at this track last start when just hunted up and did too much work and was a sitting shot late. Forgive that. The horse has never missed the quinella in two attempts over this 1600m. hould bounce back. Maxildo got a well-deserved mid-week win two back then did a good job for a close 4th at this track last start. Gets back to the mile which suits, draws well and will appreciate any sting out. Merchant Boss rocketed home from well back for 0.7L 4th. Doesn’t know how to run a bad race and the 3kg claim for Caitlin Tootell brings him right into things. Big swooping Murray Bridge track suits.

3. Chance Taken
9. Peta’s Heart
8. Burning Bright
6. Rabtat

Betting Strategy

No bet race. Chance Taken is fitter for 3 runs back since moving across the ditch and joining Chris Biegs stable. Won well first up followed by two decent metro level efforts. Gets through the going so any rain around helps. Ready to win again with the 3kg claim. Peta’s Heart has been getting a long way back in her races but finding the line when it’s all over. Stuck on well for 3rd on a tricky day at Gawler. Lightly raced who should get this and want this extra trip. Burning Bright is forever thereabouts without winning of late. Did an OK job for 5th over the 1800m here last start when coming across from a gate. Draws to do no work here from gate 1 and might want this touch extra distance. Rabtat ran a much better race here last start after falling out of form. His 3rd up form is very good, draws well and looking to get back to his best form over this trip.

1. Winning Revolution
5. Vintage Star
2. Gitalong
9. Super Alana

Betting Strategy

Probably the most even contest of the day. Winning Revolution never runs a bad race but is constantly the victim of wide barriers. Caught the eye late for 4th behind Super Alana at Morphettville last time out for 4th. Meets that horse better at the weights and will appreciate the Murray Bridge track. Always an each-way chance in a race like this. Vintage Star can be forgiven for a wide run at Gawler last start on a hard day’s racing. Previous run had merit. Been given a mini reshen up, draws well and Toeroek sticks. Should be thereabouts. Gitalong is an interesting runner. Was running good races in Victoria and Sydney but failed last time out when hard in the market. Been given a freshen up and jump out since the poor performance. Draws well and Neindorf is a key booking. Best would have him just about winning. Super Alana was a tough winner last start whe looked like being headed but stuck on gamely. Will only strip fitter for that and is 1/1 track dist

4. Cash
1. Riche Damour
10. Solar Blast
9. Sign From Above

4. Lift The Bar
1. Nurys
11. Endless Forever
2. Runaway Statement

Betting Strategy

BACK: 4. Lift The Bar (WIN & PLACE) for 1 unit

Like the run of Lift The Bar at Mildura where the trainer said the horse was short of a run but was very unlucky and really powered through the line. Strips fitter and the trip away will tighten him up. Can improve sharply. Nurys is a model of consistency who found form again with two on the trot and a luckless run last start from a wide gate but still stuck on well. Forgive that. Draws to settle much closer and building a good relationship with Todd Pannell in the saddle. Likes the chopout. Endless Forever was a good MDN winner before a spell but came back from a break and didnt do much after a slow getaway and then was just detached at Gawler. Is a better horse than that and is worth another shot here. Runaway Statement ran a MUCH better race last start with the gear changes for 3rd. Back in form, draws well and has a great record at this track and distance. Deserves to be short in the market

5. Belthil
11. Synchro
1 Fine Future
2. Easy Campese

Betting Strategy

very even event. Luck in running going to play a big part. Belthil comes across from the astute Andrew Bobbin stable and ran a real eye-catcher in the heavy fresh when bombed the start and found trouble but stil ground away well for a close up 4th. Up in grade but drops in weight, strips fitter and handles all conditions. Extra 100m suits. Always respect the interstate raiders. Synchro is looking for a hattrick here after two dominant front running displays both runs this prep. Draws wide but the horse has a good early toe. If Pannell can back things off for a furlong or two then the horse might kick and prove to be too strong. Has plenty of upside. Fine Future probably has a few better targets heading into the prep but does have excellent fresh form. Steven Theodore has really turned the fortunes of this horse around and is becoming one of SA’s most reliable horses. Hard to knock. Easy Campese ran much better two starts ago and then just raced on a hot tempo in the Midura Cup and was a sitting duck late. Looks back in form though! Drops in grade and races well at this distance. Nice claim

12. Cosmic Spy
1. The Mansman
3. Proven Correct
11. Affaire Vue

Betting Strategy

BACK: 12. Cosmic Spy (WIN & PLACE) for 1 unit

Cosmic Spy looks to have good ability. Was strong winner on debut then did nothing two back before a much improved run for 6th last start. Draws wide but Kayla Crowther likes to get back in her races anyway and the horse should appreciate the wide spaces of Murray Bridge. The 1400m looks to suit now. Should be charging late. The Mansman is a consistent galloper that was only fair last start when poked through for 3.8L 6th. The horse is better than that so he might be suited by the 5 week freshen and blinkers going on here. Loves this track and distance. Proven Correct has only been fair the past few but gets back to a track he races best with a win and three placings for five goes here. Gear changes a plenty might sharpen the horse back up. Good ability on his day. Affaire Vue was a dominant on speed MDN winner at Mildura last start. This is harder but the horse does look to have upside.
