\r\nSwitching my allegiances from the Roland Garros final, and siding with the Italian, who we also had as an outright selection. There has been a lot of conversation about Sinner’s injury, and the scoreline in the match against Dimitrov when the Bulgarian got injured. I can absolutely forgive Sinner for the scoreline, as he was playing with some uncertainty around his own elbow injury. Since then, he has had scans, obviously been cleared to perform, and has produced back to back straight set wins over Shelton and Djokovic. Although Alcaraz has the slightly higher ceiling, I prefer Sinner’s ability to maintain a level somewhat near his best for a sustained period of time. On the grass it will be a little harder for Alcaraz to turn defensive tennis into offensive tennis will be harder to achieve on the grass against Sinner compared to the clay and hardcourt. Just the 1.5 units in what should be another fascinating clash.<\/p>\n
