Group 1 for the fillies over 2400m. The Vinery Stud is the natural lead up for the Oaks and the winner of that race Treasurethe Moment looks likely to start the short priced favourite to become the 9th<\/sup> horse to do the double.<\/p>\n

The race gained Group 1 status in 1983 just one year after its inception in 1982. The race is usually the first Group 1 race of the Adelaide Autumn racing carnival but this season it will have the Group 1 Robert Sangster racing on the same day.<\/p>\n

Champion trainers Bart Cummings and Lee Freedman have won the race four times while champion hoop Damien Oliver has also won it four times in the saddle. Some key winners of the race include Mannerism (1991) Zarita (2008) Delicacy (2015) Princess Jenni (2019)<\/p>\n

Interstate trainers completely dominate this race winning all but one edition since the year 2000. In 2013 The South Australian Phillip Stokes-trained Maybe Discreet won the race for veteran Western Australia\/South Australian hoop Dominic Tourneur.<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

Autumn Angel produced a terrific price advantage last year, with the $8.16 victory coming up 22.4% better than best tote post commission.<\/p>\n

Pennyweka won the race in 2023 at $4.63, with a result on parity with corporate average.<\/p>\n

We have a very short priced favourite in #2 TREASURETHE MOMENT<\/strong> who is an absolute start. She has won her last 7 starts including a VRC Oaks over 2500m. She has toyed with her rivals in all three this campaign and is impossible to poke holes in. Drawn well, Lane sticks and hard to fault. Waller has the two key dangers and that is the way the market has seen it also. #1 LEICA LUCY<\/strong> is building a similar record to #2 TREASURETHE MOMENT, winning 6 of 7. What a match up. She has done it all in New Zealand and now faces her toughest test. The other is #5 BELLE DETELLE<\/strong> who was an outstanding winner of the G3 Adrian Knox. That has historically been a strong lead up for the Oaks with Colette the last horse to do the double in 2020. BELLE DETELLE ran the fourth fastest final 400 and 200m of the entire meeting there last start, impressive over 2000m, even with a slow tempo considered. The other horse who can run a race is #4 VERONA ROSE.<\/strong> Have a huge opinion of this filly and she was simply way too far back last start. She actually ran the fastest 400m and 200m of the race behind TREASURETHE MOMENT and has to be right in this. $2+ to place is tempting and anything similar in Top 4 markets at Betfair looks fantastic.<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n
