Warrnambool Tips: Expert Previews and Analysis

The Race Club are on hand with their Warrnambool Tips across both days of the 2020 Warrnambool Carnival.

Starting with ‘jumps day’ on the Tuesday before the flat racing on Wednesday, the team at The Race Club will be publishing their best bets for each day on the Betfair Hub.

For content from The Race Club other than Warrnambool Tips, check out their Back & Lay series and their Country Cups analysis.

Expecting speed from 4 and 8 to sit outside the leader. FORESIGHT makes his debut for the Wilde yard on the back of several strong jump outs, the latest of which was sharp work alongside Touch of Paradise and expect he can make his presence felt in a race that has likely been a long range target.

THE BILLIONAIRE had jumped out well prior to his debut where he popped like a balloon, back to the jump outs since where he was runner up to subsequent stakes winner Forever Free in sharp time and a slight gear tinker here is of note.

TAYLOR’S DREAM looks the threat to them, she sat outside the last charge fresh and I thought had her chance but perhaps condition told late. I’m against ICANTOO who won a recent jump out in good style and is was quite a big, raw girl. The time of that heat wasn’t flash but what I’m most concerned about is that she’s a been slow away in both those and from the wider gate she could end up in an awful spot and at those odds I’ll be risking.

Betting Strategy

BACK (WIN) – Foresight for 1 unit

BACK (WIN) – The Billionaire for 0.6 units

BACK (WIN) – Taylor’s Dream for 0.4 units

I expect an average tempo where 8 looks to hold the fence with company from 6. NIGHT OF DELIGHT had jumped out well before being caught out from the chute at Sale, she certainly looked the winner at one point before only being overhauled late by a handy one. She’s deserving of another chance here.

QUEEN ZYRAH the local who has buzzed along soundly in a couple of jump outs, you can expect her to jump and run and be in it for a long way.

CHROME ANGEL was very good on debut and then simply to bad to be true last time, back in trip here she can bounce back.

POCKET GODDESS has won two recent jump outs in handy style, she hasn’t been running time however, I’m far from convinced on her and felt she was well enough found here.

Betting Strategy

BACK (WIN) – Night Of Delight for 1 unit

BACK (WIN) – Queen Zyrah for 0.5 units

BACK (WIN) – Chrome Angel for 0.5 units

Above average tempo expected here, 4 kicks up with the blinkers with 11 and 9 keeping it company. TAKUMI gets here off a freshen and recently closed off nicely in a jump out. First up in Australia he was badly help up over this trip at Flemington before running on soundly in a very slowly run when up to the mile. He looks to get the right run in behind them.

KENT STREET is going well and I think ended up in the quicksand down the middle at Terang, expect he can bounce back here.

MR TIPLA was heavily restrained at the start fresh and was working his way into before finding trouble in the straight. He is suited out in trip. I have take on the fave in WHEAL GRACE here, it was a big improvement last time but of the opinion she gets much more pressure today.

Betting Strategy

BACK (WIN) – Takumi for o.8 units

BACK (WIN) – Kent Street for 0.4 units

BACK (WIN) – Mr Tipla for 0.4 units

Expect 5 is the leader. SOPHIA’S CHOICE sat wide without cover, close to a strong speed last time and was only run past a couple with cushier runs in transit. She has class on her side, with a stakes placing behind Banquo to her credit and I think gets a nice run here – should be favourite.

OBI wasn’t ever really a hope fresh in what was a sharp run home, suspect he’s much better suited out in trip second up and I think has a better hope than his current odds suggest.

EVENING GLORY showed good improvement 2nd up at Bendigo and can be very dangerous late with any luck from the draw. Risking GOLDEN GORGE here, he was very much suited by the soft early tempo last time and I don’t think he’s afforded the same favours here.

Betting Strategy

BACK (WIN) – Sophia’s Choice for 1.3 units

BACK (WIN) – Obi for 0.35 units

BACK (WIN) – Evening Glory for 0.35 units
