Super Rugby Season 2018: Final Analysis

Crusaders v Lions

Saturday 4th August 5.35pm AEST – AMI Stadium

The Crusaders host the Lions in the final of the Super Rugby competition and the Crusaders go in the biggest favourites in the history of the league, favoured by as much as 19.5 points. The Crusaders are in their record 13th final and chasing their record ninth title while the Lions are in the decider for the third straight year as they chase their maiden championship. Finals have been typically close with 12 of the last 15 deciders settled by 10 points or fewer so that gives a big edge to the Lions here getting nearly three converted tries start.

The Crusaders defeated the Lions in last year’s decider 25-17. The teams have met four times over the last three seasons with the Crusaders winning three by single digits and the Lions claiming the other. The biggest loss the Lions have suffered outside South Africa this season is 14 and they have not suffered an international loss of more than 17 since the 2015 season.

The line here is too big.
