Queen Anne Stakes (Group 1) (1) 1m – 11:30pm

Timeform Rating of previous winners: 140 140 140 140 139 (Avg 140)

Top Rated & Flags

Betting Forecast

$3.75 Rhododendron, $6.5 Benbatl, $7 Recoletos, $9.5 Lightning Spear, $17 Yoshida, $21 Limato, $23 Beat The Bank, $23 Deauville, $23 Lord Glitters, $29 Century Dream, $29 Suedois, $41 Accidental Agent, $41 Zonderland, $51 So Beloved, $67 Oh This Is Us

Analyst’s Verdict

Recoletos was ultimately well on top at the line when making his Group 1 breakthrough in his native France last month and this straight mile should be right up his street. At the prices he is marginally preferred to Rhododendron, who had several of these behind when landing the Lockinge a month ago. US-raider Yoshida is a potential player, too.

Coventry Stakes (Group 2) (1) 6f – 12:05am

Timeform Rating of previous winners: 133 124 128 136 120 (Avg 128)

Top Rated & Flags

Betting Forecast

$3.5 Sergei Prokofiev, $4.33 Calyx, $13 Cosmic Law, $15 The Irish Rover, $21 Dubai Legacy, $23 Advertise, $23 Indigo Balance, $34 Burj, $41 Blown By Wind, $41 Fox Champion, $41 Ninetythreetwenty, $41 Vange, $67 Barbill, $67 Getchagetchagetcha, $67 I Am A Dreamer, $67 No Needs Never, $101 Alfie Solomons, $101 Kuwait Station, $101 Pogo, $101 Shine So Bright, $126 Boa Nova, $151 Gee Rex, $151 Shaybani, $301 Midnight Sands

Analyst’s Verdict

Calyx looked one of the best seen in the 2-y-o division when making a winning debut at Newmarket recently, storming clear to win by 5 lengths and recording a fast closing sectional. Admittedly, this represents a big step up in class, but John Gosden has a good record with such types and he shades the vote over Sergei Prokofiev, who has been at the head of the ante-post market for a while.

King’s Stand Stakes (Group 1) (1) 5f – 12:40am

Timeform Rating of previous winners: 136 138 129 128 145 (Avg 135)

Top Rated & Flags

Betting Forecast

$3 Lady Aurelia, $3.25 Battaash, $10 Blue Point, $12 Kachy, $19 Washington Dc, $23 Mabs Cross, $41 Bucchero, $41 Declarationofpeace, $41 Different League, $41 Finsbury Square, $51 Gifted Master, $67 Primo Uomo, $81 Battle of Jericho, $151 Ornate

Analyst’s Verdict

Were Lady Aurelia and Battaash to bring their best form to the table this would develop into a classic duel. The former defends an unbeaten C&D record and nearly broke the track record in a scarcely-believable show of speed 12 months ago and is marginally preferred to Battaash, who is as talented but has threatened to boil over pre-race a couple of times.

St James’s Palace Stakes (Group 1) (1) 7f213y – 1.20am

Timeform Rating of previous winners: 140 146 141 139 140 (Avg 141)

Top Rated & Flags

Betting Forecast

$4 Without Parole, $6.5 Tip Two Win, $7 Romanised, $8 U S Navy Flag, $10 Gustav Klimt, $10 Wootton, $13 Gabr, $26 Chilean, $41 Kings Shield, $67 Threeandfourpence

Analyst’s Verdict

A competitive renewal but Without Parole created a deep impression at Yarmouth (backed up by the clock), and looks the one to focus on. He was fancied for the 2000 Guineas after that performance but had to swerve the race because of a setback, and though not as visually impressive at Sandown last time, that run came on soft ground. Tip Two Win is feared most ahead of Romanised.

Ascot Stakes (Handicap) (2) 2m3f210y – 2:00am

Top Rated & Flags

Betting Forecast

$9 Stratum, $9.5 Coeur de Lion, $10 Dannyday, $12 Lagostovegas, $13 Chelkar, $13 Meri Devie, $15 Dubawi Fifty, $15 Whiskey Sour, $15 White Desert, $19 Look My Way, $23 Cleonte, $29 Daybreak Boy, $29 Mirsaale, $29 Sam Missile, $41 Kloud Gate, $51 Hassle, $51 Percy Street, $101 Battalion, $101 Cayirli, $101 Garo de Juilley

Analyst’s Verdict

Coeur de Lion was doing all his best work at the finish when running Look My Way close at Chester and, with this more galloping track expected to play to his strengths, he could be the answer. Dannyday shaped very well on his Goodwood comeback and is a big threat, along with the progressive Dubawi Fifty. Lagostovegas could be the pick of the Mullins quintet, though Chelkar is also of interest.

Wolferton Stakes (Listed) (1) 1m1f212y – 2.35am

Timeform Rating of previous winners: – – – – –

Top Rated & Flags

Betting Forecast

$8 Laraaib, $9.5 Sharja Bridge, $11 Mirage Dancer, $13 Monarchs Glen, $15 Fabricate, $15 Morando, $15 Yucatan, $17 Autocratic, $17 Big Country, $17 Kidmenever, $19 Chain of Daisies, $19 Euginio, $19 Spark Plug, $21 Leshlaa, $26 Muntahaa, $34 Scarlet Dragon

Analyst’s Verdict

Sharja Bridge continued his theme of race-by-race progress despite meeting with defeat on return at Newmarket, finding only another progressive 4-y-o too strong. He undoubtedly has potential to rate higher still and is fancied to make a bold bid. Kidmenever arrives on the back of a career-best effort at Meydan and is feared, along with Big Country, Mirage Dancer and Laraaib.

Queen Mary Stakes (Group 2) (1) 5f – 11:30pm

Timeform Rating of previous winners: 124 120 130 141 120 (Avg 127)

Top Rated & Flags

Betting Forecast

$4 Chelsea Cloisters, $7.5 Shades of Blue, $9 So Perfect, $12 Servalan, $15 Come On Leicester, $19 Forever In Dreams, $19 Kurious, $21 Kodyanna, $21 Second Generation, $34 Signora Cabello, $34 Yolo Again, $41 Daphinia, $41 Gossamer Wings, $41 Little Kim, $51 Snazzy, $81 Deia Glory, $81 Red Balloons, 81 Shumookhi, $126 Country Rose, $126 Luchador, $251 Haats Off, $501 Global Goddess

Analyst’s Verdict

Shades of Blue was strong in the betting and looked potentially smart when making a winning debut over C&D last month, beating a couple of subsequent winners with a bit to spare, so she gets the vote for last year’s winning yard. Given the bullish reports coming from Wesley Ward it’s no surprise to see Chelsea Cloisters a strong favourite and she has to be feared, with Servalan best of the rest.

Queen’s Vase (Group 2) (1) 1¾m34y – 12:05am

Timeform Rating of previous winners: 119 123 111 119 119 (Avg 118)

Top Rated & Flags

Betting Forecast

$4 Southern France, $5.5 Nelson, $5.5 Stream of Stars, $6 Kew Gardens, $15 Almoghared, $21 Drapers Guild, $29 Lynwood Gold, $34 King’s Proctor, $41 Jeremiah, $41 Sovereign Duke, $51 Yabass, $67 Dubai Empire

Analyst’s Verdict

Aidan O’Brien has saddled the winner of this 4 times since 2010 and Nelson is taken to provide the yard with another victory, for all that Ryan Moore has seemingly passed him over in favour of Kew Gardens and the presence of unexposed stablemate Southern France. Nelson sets a good standard on his smart 2-y-o form and may relish this stiffer test. Stream of Stars is the pick of the home brigade.

Duke of Cambridge Stakes (Group 2) (1) 1m – 12:40am

Timeform Rating of previous winners: 128 134 133 133 129 (Avg 131)

Top Rated & Flags

Betting Forecast

$2.75 Hydrangea, $7.5 Aljazzi, $8.5 Tomyris, $9.5 Wilamina, $11 Urban Fox, $13 Tribute Act, $23 Promising Run, $29 Arabian Hope, $34 Unforgetable Filly, $41 Lincoln Rocks, $67 Billesdon Bess

Analyst’s Verdict

Hydrangea sticks to 1m and should be hard to beat if coming on plenty as expected from her reappearance at the Curragh. Last year’s runner-up Aljazzi has solid place claims again, while Tomyris and recent C&D handicap 1-2 Urban Fox and Tribute Act should be in the mix.

Prince of Wales’s Stakes (Group 1) (1) 1m1f212y – 1.20am

Timeform Rating of previous winners: 142 145 141 138 142 (Avg 142)

Top Rated & Flags

Betting Forecast

$1.5 Cracksman, $7 Poet’s Word, $15 Eminent, $17 Cliffs of Moher, $17 Hawkbill, $101 Desert Encounter, $101 Royal Julius

Analyst’s Verdict

Cracksman certainly wasn’t at his brilliant best in the Coronation Cup at Epsom but he still got the job done and this track, where he was so impressive in the Champion, is expected to see him in a much better light. Recent Brigadier Gerard winner Poet’s Word followed the selection home in the Champion and could be the one for the forecast spot again.

Royal Hunt Cup (Heritage Handicap) (2) 1m – 2:00am

Top Rated & Flags

Betting Forecast

$13 Afaak, $15 Saltonstall, $17 Cape Byron, $19 Escobar, $19 Keyser Soze, $21 Bless Him, $21 Firmament, $21 Master Merion, $21 Settle For Bay, $23 Mubtasim, $26 Kynren, $26 Medahim, $26 Zhui Feng, $29 Raising Sand, $29 Tricorn, $34 Flaming Spear, $34 Gabrial, $34 Love Dreams, $34 Mukalal, $34 Repercussion, $34 What’s The Story, $41 Archetype, $41 Burnt Sugar, $41 Hors de Combat, $41 Tony Curtis, $51 Arcanada, $51 Mountain Rescue, $67 Goring, $67 Surrey Hope, $101 Circus Couture

Analyst’s Verdict

Medahim has some strong 3-y-o form to his name and looks poised to run a big race after catching the eye over a shorter trip at Goodwood last time. At likely attractive odds he makes fair appeal. In what looks an ultra-competitive renewal of this contest there are any number of dangers, however, with Saltonstall, Afaak, Mubtasim and Firmament particularly feared.

Jersey Stakes (Group 3) (1) 7f – 4:35am

Timeform Rating of previous winners: 131 129 128 131 136 (Avg 131)

Top Rated & Flags

Betting Forecast

$5 Emaraaty, $10 Could It Be Love, $13 Society Power, $15 Expert Eye, $15 Symbolization, $19 Headway, $19 James Garfield, $19 Tabdeed, $21 Hemp Hemp Hurray, $23 Purser, $23 St Patrick’s Day, $26 Lake Volta, $29 Brother Bear, $34 Arabian Coast, $34 Walk In The Sun, $41 Merlin Magic, $51 Another Batt, $51 Eirene, $51 Glorious Journey, $67 Arbalet, $67 Madeline, $67 Nebo, $101 Tangled

Analyst’s Verdict

Emaraaty produced a huge effort under a big weight when narrowly denied by Society Power in a red-hot handicap at Goodwood and will take a bit of stopping if he can reproduce that level now. Could It Be Love is an obvious contender on the back of her Irish 1000 Guineas second, while the aforementioned Society Power is also respected despite meeting the selection on 10 lb worse terms this time.

Norfolk Stakes (Group 2) (1) 5f – 11:30pm

Timeform Rating of previous winners: 124 119 114 118 128 (Avg 121)

Betting Forecast

$4.5 Shang Shang Shang, $5 Vintage Brut, $6.5 Konchek, $11 Charming Kid, $12 Glory Fighter, $13 Land Force, $17 Kinks, $17 Rumble Inthejungle, $17 The Paddocks, $21 Pocket Dynamo

Analyst’s Verdict

Vintage Brut has done everything right so far, taking the rise in class in his stride when winning the National Stakes at Sandown, and he could quickly reward his new owner with another success. Shang Shang Shang comes with a big reputation and has to hold a great chance for a trainer with an excellent record at this meeting. Glory Fighter has the scope for further improvement.

Hampton Court Stakes (Group 3) (1) 1m1f212y – 12:05am

Timeform Rating of previous winners: 133 132 139 131 133 (Avg 134)

Top Rated & Flags

Betting Forecast

$6.5 Key Victory, $8 Hunting Horn, $9.5 Nordic Lights, $12 Wadilsafa, $13 Zaaki, $15 Vintager, $17 Crossed Baton, $17 Fajjaj, $17 Main Street, $17 National Army, $21 Masaarr, $23 Stephensons Rocket, $29 Mini P, $34 Silver Quartz, $67 Global Giant, $151 Shakour

Analyst’s Verdict

Wadilsafa looked potentially smart when winning a 1m minor event at Newmarket on his return and his pedigree suggests he will prove suited by 1¼m, so he should have plenty of improvement in him after only 2 career outings. Godolphin has won the last 2 renewals and holds another strong hand with Key Victory, National Army and Nordic Lights.

Ribblesdale Stakes (Group 2) (1) 1m3f211y – 12.40am

Timeform Rating of previous winners: 131 123 127 121 121 (Avg 125)

Top Rated & Flags

Betting Forecast

$3.5 Wild Illusion, $4 Sun Maiden, $7.5 Magic Wand, $12 Athena, $13 Dancing Brave Bear, $13 Perfect Clarity, $23 Highgarden, $34 Lady of Shalott, $34 Sarrocchi, $41 Sizzling

Analyst’s Verdict

Sun Maiden left her debut form well behind when bolting up in a minor event at Salisbury last month and is expected to make the necessary improvement now up in trip. Connections bypassed the Oaks in favour of this race and that can give her the edge over Wild Illusion, who is the clear pick on form but had a hard race at Epsom. Magic Wand looks best of the others back on faster ground.

Gold Cup (Group 1) (1) 2m3f210y – 1:20am

Timeform Rating of previous winners: 131 132 130 138 134 (Avg 133)

Top Rated & Flags

Betting Forecast

$2.62 Order of St George, $2.75 Stradivarius, $9.5 Vazirabad, $12 Torcedor, $19 Desert Skyline, $41 Max Dynamite, $51 Sheikhzayedroad, $81 Mount Moriah, $301 Scotland

Analyst’s Verdict

Stradivarius is a stayer on the up judged by his emphatic win in the Yorkshire Cup and he can improve past 2016-winner and last year’s second Order of St George and take his place at the top table. Vazirabad is the best in the division in his native France and a big danger to all on his first run in the race.

Britannia Stakes (Heritage Handicap) (2) 1m – 2:00am

Top Rated & Flags

Betting Forecast

$12 Crack On Crack On, $13 George of Hearts, $15 Sam Gold, $17 Completion, $17 Corrosive, $19 Curiosity, $21 First Contact, $23 Bond Street, $23 Il Primo Sole, $23 Ostilio, $26 Qaysar, $29 Breath Caught, $29 Full Moon, $29 Moqarrar, $29 Stylehunter, $34 Bullingdon, $34 Desert Wind, $41 Finniston Farm, $41 James Cook, $41 Magnificent, $41 Maverick Officer, $41 Rufus King, $41 Vale of Kent, $41 Ventura Knight, $51 Band of Outlaws, $51 Lethal Steps, $51 Simpson, $67 Landshark, $81 Statuario, $101 Alfa McGuire, $101 Desert Doctor, $101 Petrus, $126 Ballymount

Analyst’s Verdict

Any number of unexposed types to consider and George of Hearts may well be the pick of them. He didn’t enjoy the rub of the green when second to a highly progressive rival over 7f here last time and this step up to a mile should help unlock improvement. Crack On Crack On and Completion, first and second respectively in the Silver Bowl at Haydock, are big dangers and Sam Gold is also feared.

King George V Stakes (Handicap) (2) 1m3f211y – 2.35am

Top Rated & Flags

Betting Forecast

$8 Cross Counter, $10 Baghdad, $11 First Eleven, $13 Communique, $13 Dubhe, $15 Downdraft, $19 Cassini, $19 Elegiac, $19 Making Miracles, $21 Baileys Excelerate, $21 Lucius Tiberius, $23 Corgi, $23 Lucky Deal, $26 Occupy, $34 Dukhan, $34 He’s Amazing, $41 Billy Ray, $41 Perfect Illusion, $126 Lisheen Castle, $499 Mr Reckless, $500 Technological

Analyst’s Verdict

Dubhe is bred to be a Group horse and has done more than enough to this point to suggest he’ll get to that level before the end of the season, so he’s worth chancing even off top weight in what is usually one of the strongest middle-distance handicaps of the season. Mark Johnston is well represented once again, with Baghdad and Lucky Deal the pick of his sextet.

Analyst’s Verdict

Just Wonderful makes most appeal after a highly encouraging winning debut at the Curragh last month. She’s taken to improve considerably and could be set for the very top (her dam got to a rating of 116 in just 3 juvenile races for Aidan O’Brien). Her stablemate Fairyland has won both her starts to date and commands plenty of respect, as does Main Edition, who has scope for further progress.

King Edward Vii Stakes (Group 2) (1) 1m3f211y – 12:05am

$4.5 Delano Roosevelt, $6 Raa Atoll, $6 Rostropovich, $7 Old Persian, $11 Giuseppe Garibaldi, $13 Wells Farhh Go, $17 Elector, $17 Highbrow, $41 Alternative Fact

Analyst’s Verdict

Old Persian continues to go from strength to strength and his stamina remains an unopened door to progress, often shaping as though ready for this step up to 1½m, and he should make a bold bid. Raa Atoll looks highly progressive and is another to consider for team Gosden/Dettori, while Delano Roosevelt heads a 3-strong team from Ballydoyle.

Analyst’s Verdict

Sioux Nation has a progressive record on going faster than good and can provide his trainer with a second successive winner in this race. Sands of Mali and Invincible Army are very closely matched on Sandy Lane form and this likeable pair look sure to give good accounts of themselves, while Equilateral and Emblazoned are lightly-raced sorts who have the potential for better still.

Coronation Stakes (Group 1) (1) 7f213y – 1:20am

Timeform Rating of previous winners: 134 126 137 135 135 (Avg 133)

Analyst’s Verdict

Clemmie became the first offspring of Galileo to win a Group 1 over 6f last season, and as a sister to dual-Guineas winner Churchill, she should have more to offer over 1m having shaped encouragingly on her return in the Irish 1000 Guineas. There was no fluke about Billesdon Brook’s win in the Guineas at Newmarket and she has to be considered, while Threading makes each-way appeal at bigger odds.

$10 Qazyna, $13 Ganayem, $15 Dathanna, $15 Ship of Dreams, $17 Agrotera, $17 Ceilidhs Dream, $17 Desert Diamond, $17 Hence, $17 Poetic Charm, $21 Di Fede, $21 Perfection, $26 Broadway, $26 Dark Rose Angel, $26 Tajaanus, $34 Betty F, $34 Pride’s Gold, $34 Wisdom Mind, $41 Ertiyad, $51 Bubble And Squeak, $51 Ortiz, $67 Musical Art, $67 Why We Dream, $151 Escape The City

Analyst’s Verdict

Agrotera looked a useful filly in the making when opening her account at Windsor last month and appeals as the type to do better still now given a crack in handicap company. She gets the vote in what looks a highly competitive event. Ceilidhs Dream is feared most with the return to this trip likely to play to her strengths, whilst Wisdom Mind, Perfection and Ganayem are also much respected.

Duke of Edinburgh Stakes (Handicap) (2) 1m3f211y – 2:35am

Betting Forecast

$7 Dash of Spice, $9.5 Thundering Blue, $11 Walton Street, $13 Saunter, $15 Appeared, $15 Blakeney Point, $15 Eynhallow, $17 Top Tug, $21 Crowned Eagle, $23 Clear Skies, $23 Grey Britain, $26 Nayel, $29 Fire Fighting, $29 Manjaam, $29 Plutonian, $34 Eddystone Rock, $41 Newlands, $41 Sir Chauvelin, $67 Carbon Dating

Analyst’s Verdict

Not beaten far when fourth in this race off the same mark last year, Top Tug should be spot-on following his solid Goodwood reappearance and is an appealing alternative to Dash of Spice, with value in mind. Dash of Spice is a greatly respected main danger following his impressive performance at Epsom, while Blakeney Point also enters calculations, along with Appeared and Walton Street.

Analyst’s Verdict

Natalie’s Joy posted a mighty timefigure on debut when impressively winning at Goodwood last month and will take plenty of beating. Arthur Kitt should step up on the form of his Haydock debut win and is respected. Beyond Reason is another lively contender after her taking victory at Kempton.

Hardwicke Stakes (Group 2) (1) 1m3f211y – 12:05am

Analyst’s Verdict

Sir Michael Stoute has an excellent record in this race, and Crystal Ocean is strongly fancied to provide him with further success. Unbeaten both starts this year, he looks a top-class colt in the making. Barsanti is a really likable sort who should continue to give a good account, while last year’s winner Idaho needs to shake off a lacklustre effort in the Coronation Cup at Epsom.

Analyst’s Verdict

Given that Moonlight Romance pulled a long way clear with subsequent Norfolk Stakes winner Shang Shang Shang on debut, then got off the mark with ease, she should have enough ability to capitalise on what look like ideal circumstances, drawn to grab the stand rail and attempt to make all. Queen of Bermuda is her biggest danger ahead of the maiden Isle of Innisfree.

Analyst’s Verdict

Last year’s winner The Tin Man has a very good record over this C&D and seems sure to be spot on for this following his win at Windsor last month. Merchant Navy was impressive on his stable debut and is sure to prove popular given connections, while Harry Angel and Redkirk Warrior look serious players, too.

Analyst’s Verdict

This race revolves around Dreamfield, the proverbial pattern-class performer masquerading as a handicapper. Admittedly, he’s a short price for a race such as this but his C&D reappearance victory was impressive and he can land this prize before going on to better things. Growl, George Bowen and Mr Lupton, all trained by Richard Fahey, are live each-way players, as are Victory Angel and Gilgamesh.

Analyst’s Verdict

Thomas Hobson had won the Ascot Stakes only 4 days earlier when beaten favourite in this 12 months ago but this has been the main target this time and he can provide his stable with a third win in the meeting finale since 2012. The Qatar Racing pair Count Octave and Pallasator, who returns to the level after a productive spell hurdling, could be the ones to give the selection most to do.
