Betting Forecast

$10 Barney Dwan, $11 No Comment, $13 For Good Measure, $15 No Hassle Hoff, Duke Street, Fountains Windfall, $17 Forthefunofit, Dadsintrouble, $19 Holywell, $26 Zarkandar, Whataknight, Desert Cry, Joe Farrell, $29 The Tourard Man, $34 Briery Queen, Splash of Ginge, $41 ba

Analyst’s Verdict

No Hassle Hoff has yet to encounter the hurly-burly of a big-field handicap but his placed efforts in Grade 2 novices suggest an opening mark in the mid-130s could turn out to be generous. No Comment was a big eye-catcher in the Martin Pipe and will be a big threat if his stamina holds, while Barney Dwan was a cracking second in the Pertemps last time.

$2.6 Finian’s Oscar, $6.5 Brio Conti, $8 Le Breuil, $8.5 Messire des Obeaux, $11 Lough Derg Spirit, $26 La Bague Au Roi, $29 Cultivator, $34 Bordeaux Bill, Captain Forez, $51 bar

Analyst’s Verdict

A hot renewal of this Grade 1 that can go to Finian’s Oscar, who looks a top prospect and can maintain his unbeaten record for Colin Tizzard. Brio Conti and Le Breuil are most exciting also, while Neptune-third Messire des Obeaux sets the standard on that form.

$1.8 Charbel, $5 Politologue, $7.5 Forest Bihan, $8 San Benedeto, $101 bar

Analyst’s Verdict

Politologue went well for a long way in the JLT last time and promises to be suited by more of a speed test, so he’s chosen to get the better of Charbel, the hard-luck story of the Arkle who may have more improvement in him after just 3 runs over fences. The selection’s stablemate San Benedeto is considered too having been highly progressive in handicaps of late.

$8 Starchitect, Emerging Force, $11 I Just Know, $12 Value At Risk, Our Kaempfer, $13 Potters Legend, $15 Henri Parry Morgan, $17 Thomas Brown, $21 Rightdownthemiddle, Knock House, $26 Full Cry, Takingrisks, Ruben Cotter, $29 Sizing Codelco, Smooth Stepper, $34 Lamb Or Cod, Relentless Dreamer, $67 bar

Analyst’s Verdict

Starchitect ran well over hurdles here a year ago and produced his best effort in this sphere when fifth in a competitive handicap at Cheltenham last month. He may have more to offer yet, particularly over this longer trip, and is taken to score. There are plenty of dangers however, with Emerging Force, Potters Legend and Our Kaempfer chief amongst them.

$2.8 Yanworth, 6 Cole Harden, $9.5 Supasundae, $13 Ballyoptic, $15 Ptit Zig, 17 Snow Falcon, $23 Taquin du Seuil, Aux Ptits Soins, $26 Different Gravey, Three Musketeers, $34 Puffin Billy

Analyst’s Verdict

Yanworth didn’t have the pace to justify favouritism up against the top 2-milers in the Champion Hurdle last time, but he’s always left the impression that he’s more of a stayer, so there’s every chance that this first go at 3m could be the making of him. He’s a confident selection to get back on track and account for the tough Cole Harden and Coral Cup winner Supasundae.

$9 Definitly Red, $11 Vieux Lion Rouge, $15 Blaklion, More of That, $17 One For Arthur, $21 Pleasant Company, Cause of Causes, Ucello Conti, $23 The Last Samuri, $26 Saphir du Rheu, $29 The Young Master, $34 Rogue Angel, $41 bar

Analyst’s Verdict

Definitly Red‘s position at the head of the betting looks well and truly justified after his beating of last year’s runner-up The Last Samuri at Doncaster and he can end the run of big-priced winners with a historic victory. Vieux Lion Rouge has improved plenty since his seventh 12 months ago and can go well, while a strong Irish challenge is headed by Ucello Conti and Pleasant Company.

Betting Forecast

$9 So Celebre, Cousin Oscar, $13 Chesterfield, Highland Fling, $15 Master of Finance, $19 Jacks Last Hope, $21 Born Survivor, Curious Carlos, Darebin, Vosne Romanee, Zalvados, The Grey Taylor, $26 John Constable, Wakea, Raise A Spark, $29 Robinshill, $34 Remiluc, Chieftain’s Choice, $41 bar

Analyst’s Verdict

So Celebre is well and truly on the progressive path, impressing with his jumping when winning at Ascot last week, and a strongly-run 2m will suit him down to the ground, so he could be worth chancing pitched in against his elders under a penalty. Admittedly, this is very competitive, with Chesterfield, Darebin and the improving Highland Fling all making the shortlist.
