SATURDAY SPECIALS: HORSE RACING TIPS

RANDWICK BEST BETS W/ MITCH LEWIS

BACK (WIN) Race 6 | #7 Front Page for 3 units (Rated at: $2.00)

FRONT PAGE usually does his best work fresh and he is coming into this race off a 4 weeks break since he produced a big effort at Group 1 level only getting nabbed close to the line late. One of his big key here today is the race map too. There doesn’t look a lot of speed so he will push forwards and dictate out in front

LAY (WIN) Race 10 | #12 Jimmysstar for 2 units (Rated at: $7.50)

JIMMYSSTAR had Doncaster ambitions but didn’t head there in the end. He looks a type with good potential but resuming here may prove tricky. He is drawn wide which may make his job tough and especially if he is out the back.

MORNINGTON BEST BETS W/ JACKSON OLDHAM

BACK: Race 7 | 3. Sea What I See (WIN) for 4 units (Rated at: $1.55)

Sea What I See has been good to us, I’ve been expecting the market to really grab a hold of her but she has drifted when the big players have been involved at her last three starts but she keeps winning and posting really good ratings. The map is great for her versus those others in the market and I won’t be worried if another late drift comes.

LAY: Race 6 | 5. Riproar (WIN) for 2 units (Rated at: $4.2)

Riproar can win but is too short for me. His first-up rating was strong at Geelong but that was on a heavy track and now he goes straight from 1340m to the mile against some strong competition.

Grid Girl is equal favourite in my market. She won well first-up in Australia before running super second-up in the inferior ground on the back of a very fast early tempo. She was ridden poorly last start at Pakenham and still got the job done, the mile suits.

ASCOT BEST BETS W/ TERRY LEIGHTON

BACK: Race 4 | #7 Sowar (WIN) for 2.5 units

Recent seconds to Bonjoy; Tin Chooks stand out for Sowar and should get a lovely run from the gate. May even get each way.

KEMBLA GRANGE W/ JOSHUA INGRAM

BACK (WIN) Race 2 | #2 Monty The Missile for 2.5 units

Monty The Missile looks hard to beat in this race. Last start was at Newcastle on the 6th of April over the 1200m. This was Monty The Missile first race start. Settled outside the leader at Newcastle and shown a good kick over the 1200m but just found one better on the day. Up to the 1500m which will suit and control the race from the front.

LAY (WIN) Race 5 | #2 Bully For You for 1 unit

Bully For You has been flying this prep which is always dangerous to take on. Bully For You last start was on a Heavy 10 where it has produced the best figure of its career. The previous 2 starts this preparation have raced on a soft surface but the track speed on the day suggests it was closer to a firmer deck then soft. These 2 ratings aren’t going to be good enough to win this race. Maps negative as well as that and happy to take on.

EAGLE FARM BEST BETS W/ LINTON CHATAWAY

BACK (WIN) Race 6 | #11 Tojaki for 2 units (Rated at: $3.00)

Gets out to her right distance third up from a spell and reaching peak fitness she looks extremely well placed from the good draw.

LAY (WIN) Race 6 | #10 Outlawed for 0.5 units (Rated at: $5.00)

Second attempt up to this distance after trying as a younger horse and I am doubtful it will be suitable for a consistent horse that appears better placed over 1200m.

MORPHETTVILLE BEST BETS W/ LACHLAN MOSLEY

BACK: Race 3 | 13. A Samurai Mind (WIN) for 3 units

A Samurai Mind is using this race as a stepping stone towards the Group 1 SA Derby in a few weeks time. Hes a lightly races 3yo that’s won 2 of 3 and finished a close 4th at Listed Level behind the airborne Air Assault. He draws nicely here and while he does take on a pretty handy bunch, he might just have more upside. Bond Street Beau was a gutsy all the way winner last start. Is racing very well this prep. He’s right up in grade today but drops a staggering 7kg in weight with the added claim for Maggie Collett. 2/2 over this trip. Sure to be in the first few here. Montepulciano is 2nd up here after not handling the Oakbank track. Noticed Kayla Crowther has jumped off Badonkidonk to ride him. Good sign. 2nd up form is generally pretty strong and he races well at the Parks track. Crimson Vine is racing in career best form since joining the Matthew Seyers team. Was gunned down on the post last start but was still very brave. Draws well and nicely weighted.
