Racing Preview: Saturday 28th April 2018

The forecast at Morphettville is fine and sunny with the rail +2m from 1000m to the winning post. Expect the track to play relatively fair.

Looks a good betting race, very confident the winner come from Greycliffe who had a pretty average set up second up into the Port Adelaide Guineas and stuck on well for second. Raced on tired legs for the last 400m, will go close to winning in his next two starts as front runner.

High ‘N’ Dry was snagged back and set an impossible task in the Guineas. Record the fast 600,400 and 200m splits home in that event. Will appreciate the step up in distance, has drawn off the fence and regular rider Andrew Mallyon replaces Zac Spain. This horse has the best platform to win the race.

Leicester worked in the run but was on tired legs late. Has started short priced favourite at his last four starts and I’m happy to lay him stepping up in distance and a likelihood of being buried in the field from barrier one. Expect the freshness of Greycliffe and High ‘N’ Dry to be an advantage and any betting drift for Leicester will enhance my confidence.
