The forecast for Brisbane is a possible shower with light winds only. The rail is +4.5m which should result in that track playing ‘typical Doomben’ with a slight advantage to runners in the first half of the field.

Looks a race setup where the best ride/luck in running will provide the winner. In the 10,000 a fortnight ago, English got the PR (Perfect Run) with rail with cover an advantage with a head wind in the straight. With that in mind it’s hard to see her beating Le Romain home despite being drawn barrier one. I also believe the step up in trip is more to his favour.

Can’t knock Care To Think who was snagged back from a wide alley and ran home strongly. Wasn’t at his peak and with luck in running appears as the knockout runner. Impending won at this track and distance to take out the Stradbroke handicap. He’s matured to the top level now and can win or may drag Care To Think into the race.

Endless Drama looks a possible leader, he lacks the turn of foot of a few of these, but his trial was good for a horse that doesn’t love heavy conditions.

Champagne Cuddles rises significantly in grade, has drawn wide and despite being a smart filly I must risk at $5.00 and would prefer to be with her against own sex at G1 level.
