ProLays: Wednesday 8th March 2017

Every week on The Hub, professional punters from across the country will be nominating their LAY of the week.

Get the latest LAY nominations for Wednesday 8th March below.

Racing Watch – www.racingwatch.com.au

John Walter – @J_Walter23 – Warwick Farm Race 3 #3 Wing Snipper (Place)

Walter Says: “Has had two wins handed to him on a platter this time back in much softer grade. His best form traditionally is fresh and now that he is rising in grade, distance and finds a more testing surface, I’m very happy to risk him both win and place.”

Champion Bets – www.championbets.com.au

Nathan Snow – @snowbet – Warwick Farm – Race 2 #1 Mr Grumpy (Place)

Snow Says: “Horse with very good natural speed that has been suited over 1000 in the country at it’s last two starts. Big query running 1100m on a testing track and finds a deep race with a few that will be strong late.”

Punting Form – www.puntingform.com.au

Shane Baker – @PuntingForm – Ascot – Race 4 #8 Quilista

Baker Says: “Goes into this race as a short price favourite having won by a big margin (5.3 lengths) at Bunbury last start. Will be ridden by William Pike (who should attract support in betting) and faces tougher opposition this time in. Remember Berlin will most likely lead it and looks to be the class runner in the race. If they happen to go slow in front it will not surprise me to see other runners in this small field be capable of finishing over the top of them both.”

Queensland Trials – www.queenslandtrials.com.au

Chris Nelson – @qldtrials – Eagle Farm – Race 3 #8 Ramatuelle

Nelson Says: “New addition to the Tody Edmonds yard who has done all her racing to date in New South Wales. She really hasn’t found the line strongly at any of her seven outings bar the win at Scone back in January 2016. Looking at the Speed Map it seems that she will be giving away a start against some speedy types who also hold a fitness edge as she hasn’t raced for 43 days. As opening favourite she looks under the odds.”

Horse Racing Professionals – www.horseracingprofessionals.com.au

Geoff McMurray – @mcmurray_geoff  – Ballarat – Race 8 #1 Chippenham

McMurray Says: “Happy to oppose Chippenham for a number of reasons. Horse has built a consistent record over the 1200m but a look at his runs past that distance and things aren’t so bright. Had a sweet run last time at the 1300m and thought he really just battled away in the straight. Can’t see the step up in distance suiting today. Jockey change is another negative and he faces some horses proven at distance and in form including Robert De Hero and Desert Grey. For mine looks well unders at its current price”

racebk – www.racebk.com

Ben Krahe – @racebk_com – Maryborough – Race 3 #13 My Skypocket

Krahe Says: “This gelding is first up today for six months and finished last campaign well with a win and two placings. Has trialled well winning two trials, and although he deserves to be in the market, this is a deep race with Imamenace and Sashas Dream big chances. He has drawn the outside second row and I’m happy to take him on if he is at or near the top of the market”

Rick Williams Racing – www.rickwilliamsracing.com

Rick Williams – @rwilliamsracing – Ballarat – Race 4 #4 Lynch Mob

Williams Says: “Looks set to get well back on settling which looks unsuitable with the rail out in the straight. His KPI rankings are only modest to date.”

Macbet- www.macbet.com.au

John McLeod – @macbetjohn – Eagle Farm – Race 8 #8 Amaryliss

McLeod Says: “Looks a tricky day at Eagle farm. Amaryliss won a weak maiden two starts back, was sent out favourite at her next start at Lismore. I thought she was pretty average on that occasion so keen to risk her back in town.”

Racetrack Ralphy – www.racetrackralphy.com.au

Ralph Horowitz – @rtralphy – Ballarat Race 6 #5 Cruising Speed (Place)

Horowitz Says: “Gets Lachlan King riding for some weight relief, but she just isn’t going well enough to take the short odds to win as a starting point. Had the perfect run at Flemington two starts back when beaten a length in moderate time, and then last start with the blinkers on covered some ground at Sandown. That was a ‘building speed race’ and was not asked to go quickly, dropping out and was struggling at the turn.

Need to see better enthusiasm for the contest and times than that to be interested in something around the $3.00 mark with four big dangers in Shades Of Bella, Our Vidia, Sahara Chill and Powderworks can run a big race fresh. That equates to taking on Cruising Speed and I’m happy to lay her a place (top two).”

Ratings2Win – www.ratings2win.com.au

Paul Daily – @PaulD01 – Ascot – Race 6 #6 Burning Magic

Daily Says: “Still a maiden after 10 starts, this 3yo filly certainly faces a few obstacles today. My concerns are a sharp rise in distance from 1200m to 1800m, a rise in grade, to be ridden by an underperforming jockey and trained by a big underperforming stable. At the current fixed odds of $4.60 I cannot possibly see any value hence I am happy to be against.”
