ProLays: Wednesday, 27th June 2018

Every week on The Hub, professional punters from across the country will be nominating their LAY of the week.

Get the latest LAY nominations for Wednesday 27th June below:

John McLeod – @macbetjohn – Doomben Race 4 #6 Zoustyle

McLeod Says: “Zoustyle has trialled good for this but if the rain comes then the $1.30 is ridiculous considering the breed is not as good on the wet as they are on the dry. Watch the weather!!”

Punting Form –

Shane Baker – @PuntingForm – Gawler Race 1 #2 Gold Maestro

Baker Says: “Back up to the 2132m isn’t suitable, nor is the jockey.  A bunch of plodders but I can’t see this gelding worrying the judge.  Others with much more appeal especially given the relatively short price of Gold Maestro.”

Winning Edge Investments –

Geoff McMurray – @mcmurray_geoff  – Mooney Valley Race 3 # 6 Summer Glen

McMurray Says: “Against the early favourite. Has been honest but seems to be lacking a killer punch. No sure up in distance suits and won’t get a soft lead with Almalita engaged. Looks a couple here well suited in Street Spun and Groovin. Happy to oppose for those reasons.”

Winning Edge Investments –

John Lawson – @Johns_Analytics – Gawler Race 1 #2 Gold Maestro

Lawson Says: “14-start maiden who ran an improved race last time in a similar event to this but was sent out at $71 that day so it’s hard to be taking the $3.80 in this event. I have it ranked third and will be against it today.”

Ben Krahe – @benkrahe – Shepparton Harness Race 8 #1 Jimmy Locke

Krahe Says: “‘Jimmy’ has come up second pick in early markets but I only have it a (distant) fifth selection. Led them up twice at Echuca and Cobram in May/June for thirds in arguably easier races, then was stuck wide last start when eleventh here. Hasn’t won now since May 2017, and there looks to be at least three or four better hopes. THE WEEKEN is an interesting one first up for over a year with Nathan Xuereb, OUR UNCLE ALAN gets Alford on today and he will more than likely trail the 1 through and IM JOEY JONES and BELTANE are both good chances.”

Champion Bets –

Trevor Lawson – @lunchandpunt – Moonee Valley Race 9 #10 Flo Jo Snip

Lawson Says: “Resumes off a 427-day spell. Last win was Mar 17th over 1400m at Gold Coast. Trialled was sound leading into this run. That must be reason for been well found in early market. Doesn’t look to have any great figures plus the long lay-off. Happy to oppose.”

Racing Watch –

John Walter – @J_Walter23 – Canterbury Race 3 #9 Smart Melody

Walter Says: “Bit of a shot at the title here (in the final week of pro lays). This filly was ultra impressive over 900m on debut at the provincials, with winners coming from well behind here there since in lesser grade. She showed acceleration of a talented horse there. Few queries against today though which justify wanting to take her on. 900m to 1100m is a big jump in distance. Obviously a significant rise in class today. The fence is likely the place to be and this filly is no good thing to cross them early without working hard – if she is caught outside lead – there are some strong types engaged that could trouble her.”

Racing Rant –

Marc Lambourne – @justideal – Canterbury Race 2 #10 Singing Sand

Lambourne Says: “Godolphin filly who presents as a likely type. Up sharply in trip which is a big concern and had good opportunity last time so forced to query.”

Dickos Mailbag –

Jack Dickens – @dickosmailbag – N/A

Paul Daily – @PaulD01  – N/A
