ProLays: Wednesday 22nd March 2017

Every week on The Hub, professional punters from across the country will be nominating their LAY of the week.

Get the latest LAY nominations for Wednesday 22nd March below.

Racing Watch –

John Walter – @J_Walter23 – Warwick Farm – Race 5 #5 Wu Gok

Walter Says: “Big margin winner of a very moderate Class 1 2200m event at the Beaumont (Newcastle) track last start. Was hampered but a runner falling at his previous start also, so his form is not terrible. However, he runs into a very competitive small field here. Cismontane, Foreel and Shock Alert all look quality staying types on the rise and have deeper form than Wu Gok to this point. He really needs to have improved significantly again to justify his early price. Prefer to bet around him today.”

Champion Bets –

Nathan Snow – @snowbet – Warwick Farm – Race 9 #6 Gretna

Snow Says: “Has things to suit all three runs this prep and is yet to win with its most recent run being very disappointing. Maps well again and the addition of blinkers may help, but still happy to be with a few others in this race ahead of it so she looks ‘unders’ to me.”

Punting Form –

Shane Baker – @PuntingForm – Warwick Farm – Race 3 #6 Seeblume

Baker Says: “Gets its first look at a heavy track second up this preparation. Being out of Sebring there will be an expectation it will handle the going, but there are no guarantees it will. There is every indication it will get back in running and have to come home over the top of some other runners who have demonstrated an ability to produce above average ratings in the heavy conditions. That is enough reason to be laying this runner as race favourite.”

Horse Racing Professionals –

Geoff McMurray – @mcmurray_geoff  – Sandown – Race 1 #7 Scallop

McMurray Says: “In a very competitive maiden, I am willing to oppose scallop. Its two runs to date have been solid but hasn’t really attacked the line. Some very solid form in this race with Tenappy Ladies, Reacher, Millie The missile and Magic Thor all looking excellent chances. Scallop looks well under the odds at its current price of around $4.50. ”

racebk –

Ben Krahe – @racebk_com – Cobram Harness – Race 5 #7 Jovial Jurno Lombo

Krahe Says: “Won in an easier race two starts ago, but that was overshadowed by a last placing at Wangaratta most recently. Needs plenty of luck from the wide draw here and I’m willing to risk at 3/1 or less!”

Rick Williams Racing –

Rick Williams – @rwilliamsracing – Launceston – Race 1 #14 Pelagia

Williams Says: “Gets well back in her runs and will do so here from barrier one which generally throws up its own challenges. Overall figures are modest and most of her KPI rankings don’t make the top five within this race. Looks to be too short.”

John McLeod – @macbetjohn – Doomben – Race 1 #1 Eminent

McLeod Says: “Eminent won a Saturday class race last time but there were a number of unlucky horses out of it. Short odds here on a heavy track with the big weight so will risk at odds on. ”

Racetrack Ralphy –

Ralph Horowitz – @rtralphy – Sandown Race 8 #9 Dance For Me

Horowitz Says: “Won easily first up at Bendigo but with a very soft lead. The favourite Piped Aboard not turning up after being friendless in the market meaning she got the most favourable set up possible.

“Here the dynamics are very different second up off a 22-day break taking on tougher/more experienced horses, with Good Offa and Hokkaido able to produce and sustain pace. Add testing conditions (unknown in the wet) after significant rain yesterday. Jockey, Jake Noonan is no wins from his last six rides $4.00 or less and in the city has had only 11 single figure rides for one win since the start of October. That equates to being happy to oppose at less than $3.00 in early betting.”

Ratings2Win –

Paul Daily – @PaulD01 – Balaklava – Race 1 #9 Dancing Journey

Daily Says: “Is lining up for her seventh run this preparation today and has failed to impress at either of her last two runs starting at $1.80 in one of those. Likely to get back worse than midfield in a race devoid of any early speed, isn’t the ideal scenario to be taking $2.60. Based on her current fixed odds price in a race where her main rival is much better set up, makes me happy to oppose her today.”
