ProLays: Wednesday 19th April 2017

Every week on The Hub, professional punters from across the country will be nominating their LAY of the week.

Champion Bets –

Nathan Snow – @snowbet – Wyong – Race 7 #6 Sweet Adaline

Snow Says: “Has been well suited both starts this preparation getting back off solid paces and hitting the line OK on wet tracks. Off a wide gate looks destined to get right back in a slowly run race. Back on top of the ground and up sharply in grade so happy to be against it at the early price ($5.00).”

Punting Form –

Shane Baker – @PuntingForm – Ipswich – Race 5 #1 Makeadane

Baker Says: “The top weight looks like it could be quite awkwardly placed in the run here. Jumping from barrier 8, they will either have to try and push forward (doing a lot of work to get there) or drift back to midfield hoping to find a two wide position (would need a good deal of luck). This combined with the fact there looks to be a few chances in the race I have a massive query on it as favourite ($3.00) in the early market.”

Racing Watch –

John Walter – @J_Walter23 – Wyong – Race 1 #2 Lucky Fish (Place)

Walter Says: “Looks to get a very soft time of it in front here again. With Tommy Berry aboard he is likely to try and set a slow tempo and out sprint them. I think that is against this horses chances as he is much better suited bowling at an even tempo. A couple of horses that will be stalking him here that have a nice turn of foot and he may just be caught a little flat footed again. Happy to be against at the early price on offer.”

Ratings2Win –

Chris Nelson – @qldtrials – Ipswich – Race 1 # 9 Cougar

Nelson Says: “Overall a disappointing filly who has had a few chances to break through at her nine starts to date yet more often than not has struggled to finish off when the pressure goes on late. No excuses first up and although she’s better placed over the shorter 800m scamper today is still hard to entertain as an opening second favourite ($4.20). Happy to take her on once again.”

John McLeod – @macbetjohn – Ipswich – Race 6 #2 Husson Boots

McLeod Says: “Has started favourite a number of times and always finds one a bit better. She will get the right run which will hold her hard in the market but is still under the odds to me. The horse that defeated her last time was a touch disappointing at his next start which gives me added confidence in getting her beat.”

Ratings2Win –

Paul Daily – @PaulD01 – Murray Bridge – Race 6 #3 Tregeagle (Each-Way)

Daily Says: “Won by a big margin last start in a maiden ‘sit and sprint’ affair at Oakbank. Steps up in distance again here in a harder race and has a notable jockey switch from Matthew Neilson to Zac Spain which cannot be viewed as a positive. From the wide gate in a race with considerably more early speed it will have to go back and will need to improve to run a decent overall time to match it with his main rivals.”

Horse Racing Professionals –

Geoff McMurray – @mcmurray_geoff  – Bendigo – Race 4 #4 Don’t We Love It

McMurray Says: “Although form has been consistent, I’m going to be against him at the short odds today. Has been given every possible chance its past few run runs and think it has reached its level. Meets a few here on the up in Kansas Sunflower. Miss Shrimpton and Mick’s Hustler.”

Rick Williams Racing –

Rick Williams – @rwilliamsracing – Bendigo – Race 4 #2 Micks Hustler

Williams Says: “Looks like getting back to last here with the rail out 8m. KPI rankings are modest and others appear much better value with this runner $5 in early betting”

Racetrack Ralphy –

Ralph Horowitz – @rtralphy – Bendigo – Race 6 #11 Zamzam

Horowitz Says: “3yo filly with a high rating based on her 2yo days where there was no substance to the form despite finishing (a well beaten) third in the Blue Diamond before a listed race on a wet deck at Moonee Valley. Did nothing in five runs in the spring and while seemingly in good order from a couple of Flemington ‘jump outs’ and having a scary trainer/jockey combo I can only go on what’s she’s done on the clock and it’s not much against some speedy and tough older horses here. Risking at around the $4.00 mark in early betting with only serious pre-race market and/or mounting yard support saying she’s returned a ‘new horse’ to create any doubt in my mind.”

racebk –

Ben Krahe – @racebk_com – Ballarat – Race 2 #1 Parfait Amour

Krahe Says: “Has come up pretty short and deserves to be one of the top picks considering it’s the only horse to have saluted the judge. I have a feeling that Damien burns will fly the gate on the #2 Gems and if that’s the case, behind the leader isn’t the best place to be at Ballarat as there is no sprint lane.”
