ProLays: Wednesday 18th January 2017

Every week on The Hub, professional punters from across the country will be nominating their LAY of the week.

Get the latest LAY nominations for Wednesday 18th January below.

Racing Watch – www.racingwatch.com.au

John Walter – @J_Walter23 – Warwick Farm – Race 4 #3 El Novio

Walter Says: “In what looks like an even staying event, this bloke looks the least suited in a likely ‘sit and sprint’ affair. He lacks the turn of foot to go with others in the race and will need every favour to win here. LAY!”

Nathan Snow – @snowbet – Warwick Farm – Race 5 #9 Right As Rain

Snow Says: “Showed good speed but was getting tired late to win a weaker race first up. Faces a much tougher ask today up in grade with plenty of pressure to be applied from some fast horses drawn outside it. If they opt to ‘hand up’ and get crossed, that would also pose some problems.”

Punting Form – www.puntingform.com.au

Shane Baker – @PuntingForm – Sandown Hillside – Race 1 #3 Into Orbit

Baker Says: “Had an impressive win at his first start on the Pakenham Synthetic track, but faces a very different turf track at Sandown (Hillside) at his first run back from a spell. That combined with some other promising types being involved in the race is another reason to oppose it at the price.”

Queensland Trials – www.queenslandtrials.com.au

Chris Nelson – @qldtrials  – Doomben – Race 2 #6 Dont Doubt Da Wife

Nelson Says: “Looks well suited on paper jumping off an inside gate for the Fradd/Gollan combination. However, the step up from 1100m at Ipswich last start to 1350 here might just find her out. She’s only had the one start at 1200m which was two starts back when sitting on the speed at Eagle Farm before fading over the closing stages.  As the ruling favourite this morning she could be vulnerable late.”

Horse Racing Professionals – www.horseracingprofessionals.com.au

Geoff McMurray – @mcmurray_geoff  – Morphettville Race 4 #8 Arleigh

McMurray Says: “Resumes from a spell after getting back in a 1000m trial and working to the line fairly under little pressure. Its best races have been over further than this distance so it looks a real query. The form of Sicily reads well on paper and from the barrier will jump to the front and looks too good. Happy to oppose Arleigh at $3.40 for those reasons.”

Race BK – www.racebk.com

Ben Krahe – @racebk_com – Tamworth Harness – Race 7 #6 Tuapeaka Sky

Krahe Says: “Has had five runs since crossing the Tasman for two placings but hasn’t seen a small track like Tamworth yet. Drawing the outside front lane (6) is another negative and with two laps only (1600m) it will have to go back and that’s not the pattern you want at Tamworth.”

Rick Williams Racing – www.rickwilliamsracing.com

Rick Williams – @rwilliamsracing – Sandown Hillside – Race 2 #8 Tavonian

Williams Says: “Few knocks today, being second up and almost a month between runs and a rise in trip. Depending what those drawn outside do is also a chance to get caught in traffic on the fence.”

Nadia Horne Racing- www.nadiahorne.com

Nadia Horne – @NadiaHorne – Morphettville Parks Race 5 #7 Thespinis

Horne Says: “In an open race I can’t have her as short as the market.  Yet to be a winner at this track and her last two ratings are well below what is required to win this race.”

Macbet- www.macbet.com.au

John McLeod – @macbetjohn – Doomben – Race 2 #6 Dont Doubt Da Wife

McLeod Says: “Comes off a sectional that suited in his last effort and now goes to 1350m which could be a worry. The early price of $3.00 looks well under the odds to me!”

Racetrack Ralphy – www.racetrackralphy.com.au

Ralph Horowitz – @rtralphy – Sandown Hillside – Race 4 #5 Cliff Hanger

Horowitz Says: “Co-favourite Cliff Hanger comes off an absolute treacle speed 1400m race here a fortnight ago, when second to Oak Door. He was simply “there” in the OSL (outside leader) position yet showed no real pick up when asked going from the 28thbest last 600m to the 21st last 200m.

“Now goes up in distance off that moderate tempo and given that Oak Door won since at Flemington when showing much more early speed that strongly suggested that he was flat off Caulfield’s brutal 1200m on Boxing Day. I expect Cliff Hanger to be over bet from a “frank the form” viewpoint and against many who are race fit. Therefore, I’m happy to risk at the price ($5.00).”
