ProLays: Wednesday 12th April 2017

Every week on The Hub, professional punters from across the country will be nominating their LAY of the week.

Get the latest LAY nominations for Wednesday 12th April below.

Champion Bets –

Nathan Snow – @snowbet – Warwick Farm – Race 1 #1 Mr Grumpy (Place)

Snow Says: “Showing good speed, but has been weak late in its races this preparation. The step up to 1200m is a big negative in my opinion and can’t believe it’s come up second favourite in a race with plenty of depth.”

Punting Form –

Shane Baker – @PuntingForm – Warwick Farm – Race 4 #2 Miss Ballantine

Baker Says: “Is second up on a heavy track after experiencing a few difficulties in the run last start. I suspect the market will be too forgiving of that first up effort and there are some proven wet track performers which are more deserving of favouritism in this race.”

Racing Watch –

John Walter – @J_Walter23 – Warwick Farm – Race 7 #1 Broadside (Place)

Walter Says: “Started favourite her past three starts without success and is very likely to be sent around the punter’s elect here again today. She seems to find trouble in most of her races which was the case here last Wednesday when held up for clear running. That said she did hit the line OK but I doubt she would have won. She steps from 1600m to 2200m today and goes around against some very seasoned types. Likely to be ‘unders’ again.”

Ratings2Win –

Chris Nelson – @qldtrials – Sunshine Coast – Race5 #7 She Goes Pop

Daily Says: “Last start winner here class one grade horse who is facing a much tougher task today. He can again find a spot up on the pace as he did on that occasion, however up to class two level the opposition is definitely stronger and that’s likely to find him out. He does race well here on the track, but up in grade and weight he’s better suited to place rather than win.”

John McLeod – @macbetjohn – Sunshine Coast – Race 1 #5 Aberlady

McLeod Says: “Sectionals suited Aberlady last time and today is a class 1 with plenty of depth. Under the odds south of $5.00.”

Ratings2Win –

Paul Daily – @PaulD01 – Sunshine Coast – Race 1 #5 Aberlady (Place)

Daily Says: “Steps up in grade now after winning her maiden last time. Saved plenty of ground, got the run through on the inside in a race where the sectionals and pace shape helped her chances. Up to 1600m today adds another layer of risk for mine, so in my mind the current fixed win odds of $4.60 represents poor value. Suggesting we lay the place.”

Horse Racing Professionals –

Geoff McMurray – @mcmurray_geoff  – Balaklava – Race 1 #7 Designer Baby

McMurray Says: “Ran some solid races in its first preparation but had every chance all runs. This is a tough maiden first up with Miss Cuoco, Fire “N” Vice, Military Forces and first starter Regal Grove all looking excellent chances. Happy to oppose at the current odds on offer.”

Rick Williams Racing –

Rick Williams – @rwilliamsracing – Launceston – Race 2 #3 Eastender

Williams Says: “Backmarker who is always flashing home. Will likely be last or thereabouts on the fence from barrier 1. KPI figures are decent but don’t justify this horse being $1.33 in early markets.”

Racetrack Ralphy –

Ralph Horowitz – @rtralphy – Ballarat – Race 8 #11 Toffatin (Place)

Horowitz Says: “Toffatin resumes here in his second preparation/third start and while he won on debut, it was at his home track at Warrnambool in only fair time. He showed little gate speed, so here drawn widest there’s a chance that he’ll get right back early and is ultimately set for his home carnival next start. Boss Coni and Sandhurst Delight in particular look set to run very well and both possess strong closing speed, while both Artie’s Party and Magna Rossa had the tempo against them last start at Geelong. That equates to Toffatin being a place lay for mine at close to even money.”

racebk –

Ben Krahe – @racebk_com – The Meadows (Greyhound)– Race 2 #2 Clovally Granite (Each/Way)

Krahe Says: “Has won 1 of 14 starts and been placed nine times. SO on face value it looks like one of the top picks. However, this dog maps poorly in our opinion and will get crossed by the three and four dogs. Happy to lay it win and place.”
