Pro Lays: Wednesday 21st February 2018

Every week on The Hub, professional punters from across the country will be nominating their LAY of the week.

Get the latest LAY nominations for Wednesday 21st February below.

Meet the team of pro punters here

Winning Edge Investments –

Geoff McMurray – @mcmurray_geoff – Caufield Race 4 #2 Diapason

McMurray Says: “Not a bad horse but have to be against at the $3.00 early quote. To the eye doesn’t seem to have come up as well this preparation and that’s supported by his ratings. Meets a pretty competitive field here so happy to be against today.”

Punting Form –

Shane Baker – @PuntingForm – Ascot Race 1 #1 Atacama Sky

Baker Says: “Winner of two from 14. Has an apprentice jockey with poor figures goes on board, other runners have run similar performance benchmarks at various stages (compared to Atacama Sky’s last start, where it had every chance) and it is somehow odds-on in the early markets. Must take it on.”

Racing Watch –

John Walter – @J_Walter23 – Canterbury Race 5 #2 Kennedy

Walter Says: “Very good ride last start in a strong race when leading until late against Siege of Quebec. Draws the inside gate in what looks a tactical affair here – highly unlikely to hold the lead and from behind the leader will need all sorts of luck to get out when required. Happy to risk at the short early quote. ”

Racing Rant –

Marc Lambourne – @justideal – Canterbury Race 5 #2 Kennedy

Lambourne Says: “In demand as a 3yo back from Saturday and up against the oldies BUT now deep in his prep at a “freshies” distance with a highly negative barrier switch.”

John McLeod – @macbetjohn – Gold Coast Race 8 #2 Tivoli Street

McLeod Says: “Tivoli Street won a weak contest at Ipswich last time, but did have a few favours go his way which takes extra shine off the win. In early markets he’s come up at $3.50 and that’s a lot shorter than what we give him credit for.”

racebk –

Ben Krahe – @racebk_com – The Meadows Race 5 #5 Zipping Chaser

Krahe says: “Comes off some top runs at Geelong but his ‘two-turn’ form is modest. He lacks early speed and has an awkward draw. He has failed to show up in two starts at the Meadows and maps to find trouble today. He looks poor value at the $3.50-$4.00 current quotes.”

Ratings2Win –

Paul Daily – @PaulD01 Gold Coast Race 8 #1 Canberra

Daily says: “Arrives here from NSW for the Waller stable with recent form below the standard required to justify the $3.30 early price. Can improve and does have the ratings to be competitive but would need conditions to suit and must overcome the inform Suilven. To me there should be more of a gap between the two runners and at current prices is the one to bet around.”

Dickos Mailbag –

Jack Dickens – @dickosmailbag – Caulfield Race 5 #8 Think Bleue

Dickens Says: “Comes from Maiden grade in a slower time than most here and comes up fave. Brad jumps off for young Turner who gets to claim 1.5kg. Had the perfect run in weak Ballarat race where they walked early.”

Winning Edge Investments –

John Lawson – @Johns_Analytics – Ascot Race 5 #2 Fair Sonari

Lawson Says: “Comes into this race in good form having won 2 of last 3 at Bunbury with another placing at Pinjarra but has a negative jockey change and up against a better field here so happy to oppose at the current price of $3.90.”

Champion Bets –

Trevor Lawson – @lunchandpunt – Caulfield Race 3 #3 Cullingworth

Lawson Says: “Unlucky last start when checked on corner at Moonee Valley behind So Poysed. Not sure would have won if he had an interrupted run anyway. Early market has priced as if won easily. This race has some depth. Happy to oppose at the short quote.”
