Pro Lays: Wednesday 18th October 2017

Every week on The Hub, professional punters from across the country will be nominating their LAY of the week.

Get the latest LAY nominations for Wednesday 18th October below.

Meet the team of pro punters here

Horse Racing Professionals –

Geoff McMurray – @mcmurray_geoff – Caufield Race 5 # 1 Prompt Response

McMurray Says: “Come up favourite after not getting clear first up. Can’t see the increase in trip in its favour so happy to play around her in this race. Also gives weight to a couple of horses going extremely well in Flying Jess and Hell or Highwater. For those reasons playing around the favourite.”

Punting Form –

Shane Baker – @PuntingForm – Caulfield Race 5 #1 Prompt Response

Baker Says: “Class horse of the field, but certainly enough questions to be taking it on as favourite here. Goes to 1600m for the first time and carries top weight of 58kg. If the sire statistics for runners by Beneteau are anything to go by, then Prompt Response might be calling for oxygen at the end of a mile with that type of weight.”

Champion Bets –

Nathan Snow – @snowbet – Caulfield Race 6 #9 Formality

Snow says: “Deep race with a handful of chances. Weird set up coming back from a gut busting Golden Rose to a hot dry fast deck at Caulfield. Looks out of place and well under the odds.”

Racing Watch –

John Walter – @J_Walter23 – Canterbury Race 7 #1 Osborne Bulls

Walter Says: “The close up runner up run behind Invincibella last start that looks to be over played here. He had the perfect run in transit there and looked all over a winner – just lacked the dash he showed at Gosford. Think to win this he has to be ridden cold and that is a tough task around Canterbury. If ridden closer to suit the track he may lack the dash once again. Runs into a couple of smart/progressive types today and looks very short at his early quote.”

Dickos Mailbag –

Jack Dickens – @dickosmailbag – Caulfield Race 8 #14 Silvera

Dickens Says: “Silvera maps to be back and buried today on a track which I predict will advantage horses forward and on the fence in run. Steps up in grade from average time $40k race to a deep $120k race. On a tactical track with Group One riders steering, I’m keen to take on Silvera at $3.6 who needs luck in run & to improve his rating to be winning.”

Racing Rant –

Marc Lambourne – @justideal – Canterbury Race 8 #12 Artemis Rose

Lambourne Says: “Resuming for Hawkes/Avdullla. Debut course & distance reads super nosed by Invincible Gem, but all favours that night on the bunny. Pressure comes on from out wide with Excellere desperate to lead forcing Artemis Rose back into the box seat and out of control.”

Ratings2Win -

Paul Daily – @PaulD01 Northam Race 3 #1 Shrewd Gamble

Daily Says: “Three runs back this preparation have been a bit ordinary, the best of those his second up run when suited by the pace shape of the race. His recent form combined with his get back run style and a distance query at the 1600m all suggest that at the current fixed odds of $4.60 he is one to oppose.”

racebk -

Ben Krahe – @racebk_com – Geelong Harness Race 7 #2 Time Keepa Lombo

Krahe Says: “This guy definitely is a chance, however I think it is a very even race with six of the seven horses all good winning chances. Has placed in five of its last six, but that in itself is a bit of a worry. Have also notice the stable probably isn’t at the top of its game at present.”

John McLeod – @macbetjohn – No Lay – Ipswich – Abandoned
