Newcastle Knights v Sydney Roosters

Friday April 14, 6:00pm AEST – McDonald Jones Stadium

Newcastle have dropped four on the trot after ending their long losing streak in Round 2 but they have been playing tough, tight football for the better part of that run. The Sydney Roosters have been poor in their last two conceding 25 points a game and they have covered just 3 of their last 10 after being held to single digits. Home underdogs getting a start of more than 10 points are 6-1 against the line in the first eight rounds of the year dating back to 2008.

St George Illawarra Dragons v North Queensland Cowboys

Saturday April 15, 7:30pm AEST – WIN Stadium

A taste of life without Johnathan Thurston will be what the Cowboys face when they travel to Wollongong to tackle the Dragons on Saturday night but they can win or at the very least keep this close. The Cowboys have won nine of the last 14 against the Saints with three wins in their last four outings at Wollongong. North Queensland have covered seven of their last 10 when getting a start of a converted try or bigger.

Penrith Panthers v Cronulla Sharks

Sunday April 16, 4:00pm AEST – Pepper Stadium

The Sharks have had it all over the Panthers in recent meetings with seven wins in the last nine clashes. Penrith have been poor at home when a small favourite, covering just three of their last 10 when being favoured by less than a try. The Sharks are flying at present with three straight wins and will be buoyed by their gritty win over Melbourne. The Panthers, for all the boom on them, have just two wins this season.
