Race 1 – Yarmouth 11:20pm
9. Textured: Looked in need of the experience when down the field on her racecourse debut at Kempton in June and showed the benefit of that initial outing with a fairly useful second over this C&D last time. She proved a totally different proposition on that occasion, moving through to lead as the field entered the final furlong and just collared by a stablemate close home.
That pair pulled some way clear of the third – and open to more improvement for her powerful connections – Textured is taken to see off the attentions of Bouquet de Flores and can open her account at the third time of asking.

Race 3 – Yarmouth 12:20am
4. You’re Hired: Showed improved form when making a successful handicap debut at Goodwood in July and ran at least as well when third at the same venue last time.
He wasn’t seen to best effect on that occasion either (exaggerated waiting tactics not ideal in a steadily-run race), but stayed on strongly once finding top gear in the final furlong and would probably have been in front in a few more strides.
That form leaves him 2 lb clear on Timeform ratings here and You’re Hired should prove extremely difficult to beat now stepped up to this trip for the first time, with Haddajah feared most of the remainder.

Race 4 – Thirsk 12:30
1. Mythmaker: Fared better than the bare result when seventh on his most recent outing in the Great St Wilfrid Stakes at Ripon, forced to deliver his challenge in the disadvantaged group on the far side of the track and ultimately doing extremely well to get within two and a half lengths of the better-placed winner.
He certainly showed enough to suggest he is capable of winning again off his current mark and – just 1 lb higher than when second at York in May – Mythmaker is fancied to capitalise on this drop in grade and can regain the winning thread with a defeat of the thriving Harwoods Volante.
