Race 2 – Southwell 11:20pm
9. Fujin: This is a drop in class for Fujin who has been running creditably in handicaps from a BHA mark of 70 in recent weeks and will be right at home now returning to the fibresand, where his last two wins have come. Barring Oeil De Tigre – who will be a threat if taking to the surface at the first time of asking – he sets the standard by some way and should be hard to beat under Josephine Gordon.
BACK – Fujin
Race 4 – Southwell 12:20am
2. High Command: Captain Swift, Deep Resolve and Come Back King were all left trialing in High Command’s wake over a mile and a half here last time, and a 6 lb rise in the weights for that success (where he was value for more than the two and a half lengths he won by after contesting a strong pace throughout and then idling in the closing stages) could prove lenient. There could be more to come from High Command over this longer trip and with the potential for an easier time of things upfront here.
BACK – High Command
Race 5 – Southwell 12:50am
4. Captain Revelation: Capolavoro was impressive when winning at Wolverhampton on Saturday and has obvious claims if taking to the new surface, but it could be worth chancing Captain Revelation who should relish the return to this surface based on his record here (reads 22211). Captain Revelation is now just 3 lb higher in the weights compared to when he landed a double here in March and it would be no surprise to see a much improved performance now he is back under optimum conditions.
