Race 2 – Southwell 11:30pm
9. Clubland: Very hard to get away from Clubland, who won over this course and distance from a 12 lb higher mark in February when trained by Row Bowring. He has run well enough on his three starts for Garry Moss, finishing second at Newcastle on his penultimate start before being denied a run when sixth last time at the same track, and he should be hard to beat with Tom Marquand booked for the ride. Vroom won a claimer over this course and distance last time and should give another good account having taken to the surface so well.

Race 6 – Southwell 1:30am
1. Landing Night: Would have gone close over five furlongs at Wolverhampton last month if he had got the splits (dived to the inside in the straight before being blocked there, then being switched out a furlong out, when it was too late). He won his only start here for Ann Duffield over this course and distance, and should get a good pace to aim at. Mysterious Look took well to this surface at the beginning of 2015 and could be a threat.

Race 7- Southwell 2:00am
3. Llewellyn: Recent form figures aren’t all that inspiring, but he produced more than one effort over the summer on turf to suggest that he can be effective from this sort of mark, and given that his last two wins have come here (the latter from 5 lb higher in the weights) he could be worth chancing. Macho Mac is unexposed and will be a danger if learning to settle over this trip.
